Great WLB, but micromanagement

Pros

Great WLB Ok culture nothing special and depends on team

Cons

- Management is very micro managing. Don’t get me wrong senior leadership involvement is very helpful and required. Yet it is not useful when a C suite exec is micromanaging a analyst - Unnecessary and repetitive tasks are expected. Like tracking the same thing in 5 places - There is no intention to innovate/automate - Bonus system makes zero sense as you can never be in the “exceed expectations” bracket and apparently the management knows this. So the bonus never exceeds mid single digits - They promote people based on tenure not skill set so even middle managers struggle and are not particularly good. - firm is scaling too fast with no good solution to basic problems - management is disconnected from reality - compensation is not in line with other hedge funds. Fine it’s a smaller fund, but still.
