Work with the team that wants nothing but the best for you! The atmosphere is absolutely the best and I’ve never honestly worked for a company where everybody wants you to win in your career! The pay is great! And the workdays are never too much to handle! Truly feel blessed to be a part of such a great company☺️

pay is generally better here than other property management companies

work life balance is off. they changed the way vacation time is accrued which makes it more difficult to plan for vacations, and some roles could really benefit from the ability to be hybrid such as managers.

Needs Further Coaching Of Staff To Adhere To Building And Electrical Codes, Further Training And Continued Engineering Maintenance Education Required As Problems Continue To Arise From Previous Failed Service Maintenance Practices And Bubblegum Patch Techniques; It's Concerning When Plumbers Don't Even Use A Product In Which Other Technicians Do And Don't Understand How Damaging It Will Be To The Company Property In The Present Future; Other Staff Are Disgruntled And Appear To Take Acts That Inherently Are Disrupting In Every Aspect Of Maintenance Occurrences....Still, Buildings Can Be Saved....

An older building built in the 80's. which give me many opportunities to learn here. They have a greatly diverse community.

Older building with some a challenge to replace or repair parts and or product because things are a bit dated.

- Areas of opportunity available for growth (can be market dependant if smaller) - Rent discount above the typical industry standard of a flat 20% - Implemented a Values Council who collaborate on matters of: diversity, equity, inclusion, social responsibility, sustainability employee engagement and total wellbeing - Training(s) and support systems available for a multitude of topics

- They offer a Flex Schedule but certain positions are exempt - Commission payout is low compared to competitors - For my specific market, I wish Corporate / Senior Management had more interactions with on-site employees

My team is wonderful! We all get along great, the atmosphere is very productive and everyone is team oriented and a team player. Company events are a great source of networking and building rapport with other employees and upper management.

Equity residential offers a wide range of employee benefits including a 20%-50% discount on rent depending on your position and location, as well as deep discounts on healthcare and other services. Equity has a lot of work events including free tickets to sports games and employee appreciation lunches and dinners which are great ways to meet employees at other locations and network. They also tend to hire internally which means there is a clear pathway for advancement.
Cons
Hours can be odd and depending on your position you may be expected to deal with emergencies at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Dealing with residents can difficult at times. Equity residential doesn't provide full time security for its properties which may not be a problem in other cities but can be a serious issue in downtown Los Angeles.

I've been with Equity for over 5 years and excited for the future. Got hired as Service Manager and year later got promoted to a larger community. A year later, I was promoted to General Service Director of multisite properties. I've been recognised for living the ten ways and helping with initiatives outside my job role. I received a lot support my leaders that keeps me engaged and help me grow in my career. With Equity Residential your voice matters.
