It has all the perks of being an EU public servant - pension scheme, health scheme, good salaries

Cons

Evaluation and promotion methods are not transparent. No one can explain why one person is promoted over another. There used to be a point system, but that's been done away with. No clear career guidelines or career policy below Management level. Lack of transparency in application of rules when it comes to postings abroad - the rules apply to some, but not to others. Overall low morale and very negative work atmosphere

International environment, exciting policy priorities, generous project budgets. Compensation varies from completely inadequate to excellent, depending on the type of contract. Same goes for career development.

Cons

Senior management lacks basic managerial skills. Inefficient information and workload management both within and between HQ and Dels. Incredibly outdated and poor treatment of local agents.
