Pros

I have no pros, I am quitting before I've even worked my first job.

Cons

I was called in for training and received a confirmation email stating when I should arrive, what to bring and how to pay for parking. I arrived promptly at the time I was supposed to, paid my parking and walked over. No one was there. I waited 15 minutes before calling the gentleman who had been the one to set up the appointment. When he answered he informed me the training was cancelled and I should have received an email. I told him I did receive an email not cancelling it but actually confirming it. He sounded confused and then asked me if I was just arriving and if I was, I would have been late. I assured him I had been standing outside for 15 minutes hoping someone would arrive to train me. I can't even believe he would try to make me at fault for his stupidity by saying I was late. I then told him I was upset and would be writing a poor review. He started being super nice and said he would accommodate me the following week. I received an email the next day apologizing and setting up another training. That training was today and guess what...He didn't show up! He said he had a flat tire and wasn't going to make it. This company is a extremely disorganized and I would stay away if you value your time and yourself.

We successfully hire about 200 people each season and this was extremely unusual and unfortunate situation where we cancelled an info session and 25 people received the cancellation email unfortunately this person didn't receive the email. Probably ended up in a junk folder. And then, sure enough, when we tried to reschedule a private session to make up for that my car broke down on the way to work. We have a great company that we are very proud of but in this instance we definitely didn't walk the talk. As the founder/GM I take full responsibility for not meeting this persons expectations.

Flexible hours, decent pay, temp job

Pros

Extremely flexible hours, you only sign up for the shifts you want. Decent pay for a temp job. Each shift is in a different location, which is a plus in my book bc you get more variety. It's also interesting to occasionally work some pretty high profile events, I've even met a celebrity!

Cons

It's very hard to schedule enough shifts to get near 40 hours/week, unless you work 7 days. The shortest shift is 4 hours, which can feel like a bit of waste, especially if it takes 30-60 mins to get there. Some shifts are only accessible if you have a car, and can be a bit of a drive, although they will pay you per mile if it's very far. Little chance of networking due to the contract you sign. Some locations have staff or managers that can be very rude to the temp workers.
