Pros
- Flexibility. The job is 100% remote, and most of the current management are quite flexible and reasonable. - Career Experience. A good place to put on a resume if you're just starting your career in the MSP/CSP industry. - Large Benefit Package. Good health, dental and vision. Also good rates for Life and Disability. FSA and other offered. 401k is matched, but they only meet the standard employer match of up to 4%. Would be nice to see more match here, but its better than nothing and nice that they meet the market norm. Vacation accumulation is amazing. Top tier is 20 days PTO, and that's only after FIVE years!
Cons
- Documentation. Just one example, but this organization lacks a proper org chart. This is an organization that is 100% remote and doesn't have a proper org chart. Some people's Team's profiles state they report to a manager who has left years ago.. Best of luck to you if you're new here to find this kind of stuff out. - Policies, Procedures. They are not enforced, they are more of a guidelines. This leads to accountability, productivity, and efficiency problems. - Personnel Growth. Losing top talent consistently. Occasional all star will join the organization, but when they see theyre not going to be able to grow into more advanced roles, or experience first hand the failures of Evolve IP, they leave and go elsewhere. It's a real shame that we don't cultivate the really talented people when we hire them or try harder to keep them onboard. - Private Equity. One day this company or parts of it, will be sold. Keeping costs down and positioning the company to be sold - that is the mission of the current executive team. You would be wise not to forget that either. Sometimes releasing good performing personnel isn't personal, it's just a business decision. Seen this happen not to long ago under this executive team to a lot of top talent. These are not leaders that care about your well being like some employers do, these are bottom line managers. Just understand the relationship and you'll be fine. - Job Security. Less sale wins, more cancelations of services seem to be coming more common month-to-month. Pair this with "jokes" about layoffs coming from a member of the executive team, is enough to cause anxiety for some. - Salary. Continued asking over the course of two years to be brought up to market rate for my responsibilities, and I was continuously disappointed. - The Losing Team. All the above items consistently make it feel like you're playing on a losing team. The turnover rate of employees is terrible. If taking pride in the organization you work for is something that matters to you on a personal level, Evolve IP will disappoint you far too often. I felt I gave them enough time to prove to me they were serious about turning it around.
