    Pros

Great people to work with, and good working atmosphere within my team.

    Cons

Higher management didnt understand the every day pressured we were under. Eventually we got sold down the river by the highest powers that be,

    Advice to Management

Remember without the staff on the ground you wouldnt have lasted as long as you did.

I worked at Extra Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff were very kind and the senior management were quite laid back. However the money was reflected in this too

    Cons

The salary was far too low for the work we did. There was no progression available and eventually the company went bust.

    Advice to Management

To have hard working staff you need to invest in them! You cannot expect a primark jumper to be of Gucci quality!

I worked at Extra Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly Agents and Senior Advisors, who trained and developed me to become competent in my role.
My team motivated me to attend work, feeling positive.
Gaining valuable experience and skills in the energy sector.

    Cons

Poor team morale and appalling atmosphere.
    Poor communication within the company.
Majority of the Management team lacks good communication skills and people’s skills. They also do not have a clue about the processes and systems, hence they are reluctant to deal with escalations.
Staff are treated like schools kids.
Agents are expected to take on a variety of duties, and when they are merely on the minimum wage.
    No annual pay rises.
Under paid agents and unrealistic bonus schemes.
    Company is now ceasing trading.
Company was in an extremely high debt, and now more than likely to be placed into administration.
As a result customers were left without a supplier, and the employees without a job.
It is absolutely disgusting in the manner employees were forced to leave work, without any notice, following a Business Update.
Hence still have not been contacted after forced to leave work, from an appointed administrator.
The Cons list is longer than the Pros list, unfortunately.

    Advice to Management

For all Managers to familiarise themselves with the systems and processes.
    Have regular team meetings.
    Improve team morale and communication.
Attend regular management courses, to effectively and efficiently manage teams and the floor.

I have been working at Extra Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people - there's a unique camaraderie across each floor, which probably comes from the fact everyone is working in a totally chaotic situation trying to do the best they can under the circumstances.
The new CEO and CIO are slowly making the right changes to improve things.

    Cons

The operations team believe they run the business, which might be why it's falling apart.
There's no transparency. Lots of rumours about how the business is doing, but no-one will actually communicate any real information to employees.
    No training or development.
Huge pay gap between head of level upwards and everyone else.

    Advice to Management

    Be honest with staff.
    Find a new operations director.
