Cons

Low pay Basic Benefits Arrogant, Self Centered Management Mismanaged, unfair practices Known bullies allowed to stay in leadership positions Constant "us vs. them" and waste of time and frustration between FGL and Canadian Tire Declining Morale, Purposefully Erased Culture and No Common Vision or Identity Best People and Leaders have Left, or Are Leaving Nothing Gets Done - Delays, Cancelled Projects Most Things are Done "For Show" (No Substance) Increasing Focus on Hierarchy ( More like Canadian Tire) No or Very Few Opportunities for Learning, or Promotion (No Plan) People are Seen as Replaceable, and Not Invested In (Except a few Favorites that Rarely Deserve it) History of Inappropriate Behaviour, Favoritism, Losing Skilled People Leaders who Stay are Yes Men (Overall, the worst of both companies.....)

Pros

Worked there for 5+ years and met many great people, the cafeteria is top notch, onsite daycare is amazing (having used the service), the head office building is kinda funky too. I would have given FGL Sports 5 stars, but then CTC started terminating positions in every department. Benefits were good, especially for my large family.

Cons

Canadian Tire Corp owns FGL Sports and is now making major and drastic cuts to the staffing, culture and everything else that comes along with it. More than 100 plus, long time, loyal and hard working full-time employees have been let go since early 2017. Sadly, this number will only climb higher. CTC has been been letting people go in small batches, so not to raise alarms in social media and local news outlets. Canadian Tire had a clause in it's contract that they couldn't make any major staffing changes until 5 years had passed after it's takeover of FGL Sports. Now that time has come and many good people are paying the price.
