Unexperienced leadership

Pros

- Competitive benefits package based on the Berlin market. - The average of co-workers are very nice and friendly. - Training budget.

Cons

The company has lost several key people in the past year, including the head of the key department of the company. A high volume of layoffs with low levels of transparency have created a hostile work environment. Many of the leads and even C* level executives do not understand what is happening in the technology area. Technology department base their actions on poor politics (friendship) rather than state-of-the-art technology and best practices. Team members are usually moved to different teams based on the subjective judgment of the lead team member, rather than on objective criteria such as the technological expertise of the team or team member.

Preparing for Failure

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

+ On time pay + Excellent work/life balance + Low pressure

Cons

- Unfair evaluations - Salary increases don't have a clear protocol and are recommended by line managers, meaning that a personal problem with your manager will mean you won't get a raise; - C-Levels don't aknowledge that the products aren't still ready for go-to-market and so the strategy is not the best. - It's an IT / software company but the devs represent only about 15% of the workforce. Devs can't solve bugs and develop new features because there is simply not enough workforce on dev teams. - Even though it is tecnically a standalone company, it belongs to KorberDigital which means that they FactoryPal can't make decisions on its own, which frequently leads to rushed decisions. - Operations and Strategy are not aligned. The path is being done motivated by sales which should, at this point, still be motivated by development. - Talented people are all leaving the company and the ones that remains are low-quality people that have nowhere else to go. - FP is searching for a new investor. This is politically correctness to say that KD is no longer interested in financially supporting FP and so a percentage of the company is being sold. A major red flag when a company (KD) is selling its first startup (FP) without any profits to show for it, only major losses. - This company is set to failure. It will happen at this pace in - at most- 2 years.

Dear former employee, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience at FactoryPal. We appreciate your positive comments about our timely pay and great work-life balance. We understand that you have some concerns, and we take them seriously. Firstly, we would like to clarify that our tech department makes up around 56% of our employees, which is a significant proportion of our workforce. As for the statement that only “low-quality people” remain at the company, we strongly disagree with this characterization. Our employees are the backbone of our company, and we are proud of the talented and dedicated team that we have built. Regarding your concerns about salary increases, we have a clear protocol in place that involves performance evaluations and recommendations from line managers. We believe this process is fair and transparent, and we encourage employees who feel they have been unfairly evaluated to raise their concerns with HR. Regarding your comment on the lack of alignment between operations and strategy, we appreciate your feedback. We are constantly striving to improve our processes and ensure that we are working efficiently to achieve our goals. We have recently implemented a number of organizational and process changes to continuously improve the way we collaborate across a constantly learning and growing organization. We are also proud to be part of Körber, which provides us with valuable resources and support. While we may not make all decisions independently, we work closely with our parent company to ensure that our strategy aligns with our goals. Finally, we are sorry to hear that you believe our company is set to fail. Building a startup is hard and the path to success is accompanied by many challenges and sometimes doubts. We are just three years old and have built an incredible team and product. We are far from done, in fact, we are just getting started. We are actively seeking a new investor, as part of our growth strategy to develop our business into new industries. Körber is continuing their support unchanged and together we remain highly optimistic about the future of FactoryPal and we are confident in our ability to continue providing valuable products and services to our customers. In fact, we have just recently won the Factory Innovation Award in the Category ‘Best Internet of Things Solution’ awarded by an independent expert jury. Once again, thank you for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Sharifa Karadayi, HRBP at FactoryPal.

Pros

Low pressure, low work load, training budget, home office

Cons

nothing works, no one besides customer success team cares about the customer. Product still needs development and is not ready for the industry. Management keep closing their eyes for the fact that the product does not work and insists on trying to convince everyone that it works instead of facing the truth and guiding the teams to find a solution together. Product owner does not respect customer success team and does not accept feedback from clients coming through CS team members; always pointing fingers trying to blame others for the misinterpretations of the customer needs. If you like working with anger and frustration that's the kind of company you will get, and that's the reason why almost all consultants left FP, or are looking to leave,.
