Promotions are based more on existing friendships than merit - and they will use "experience in gambling" as an excuse to hire/promote extremely unqualified people, rather than thinking about experience in the roles responsibility. This has led to a mainly international employee base - so be ready to work all hours of the day as they have people in Ireland, NY, Denver, and Australia.
The main criticism is decision making and know-how of many of the people in leadership positions - constantly behind the curve, don't want to change anything, zero foresight, will spin anything to make themselves look good (even if that means lying to execs), and won't listen to anyone who has more technical experience unless they worked in gambling.
