Pros

Compensation is decent and management is somewhat encouraging at times .

Cons

Training! Spending time with reps in field. Management is spread too thin and instead of continually working with their struggling sales reps it's easier to write them up and move them out. 6 months is not enough time to build a dilapidated territory and constant turnover doesn't help. Working with a rep 3 times in 7 months within their territory does not constitute training. Territory is far too large to build as the Ivory tower would like it to be built.

Pros

Great tools & technology for sales force. Excellent training program. Very thorough. Creative marketing team. Close "family" feeling. Many long term (non-sales) employees.

Cons

Some shady management. Lack of diversity. After extensive interviewing, hand writing analysis (seriously), phone interviews and other assessments I was offered the national account position. Unknown to me and not disclosed was the very high turnover in the position. I was told it would take 1-2 years to get up to speed. I was told support and training would be ongoing and it would take time to build the relationships. Their industry is at a cyclical low point and on top of that you're calling on ad agencies where people come and go quickly. So there is a challenge. Apparently after 6 weeks of training at HQ, 3 weeks of working was all they needed from me and I was released. Keep in mind this is a "Critical" role for the company, yet they go through people at a very high rate. No one internally wanted the position. They point to the last successful person in the role over 4 years ago, yet somehow cannot find anyone to do the job. Also, perhaps not an issue for many, there are no employees that are not WASP. No African Americans, Asians, Latinos, etc. It was a bit strange. Voicemail can be overwhelming. Everything from prayer hotline to sales stories to inspirational sales quotes.

Pros

Management is friendly and can be encouraging

Cons

There is NO base salary despite what they say. You are not given enough time to grow a territory and make any decent money. They start you with a small base but it turns into 100% commission. Successful reps have been there for many years. Taking over a territory with constant turnover is a huge hurdle to overcome in a short time.
