Brain drain caused by CEO

Pros

Staff are very nice and do genuinely seem to care about each other and the members

Cons

The CEO is incredibly tactical and does not know how to think strategically. He also has failed to empower any other team members to make decisions, including his senior executive team. He is incredibly susceptible to flattery and if you don't participate you'll be sidelined or fired.

Pros

Depends on the day and the team you work with. Any positive benefit or feature of the company is overshadowed by the actual day to day experience of their own rogue, seedy culture despite the posted "appearance values" of the organization.

Cons

Tenured management thrive on intimidation, favoritism/bias, retaliation, and prevent deserving and talented individuals from developing or advancing. There are employees that are remarkable and have been there for years in holding patterns while others will continue to get moved through the ranks being deemed a better 'culture fit' which essentially means they were better at smiling and nodding than any actual skill or capabilities. This trickles down to members by way of disorganization, incompetence, poor training/resolution.

We place great importance on the voice of our employees and appreciate your feedback. We will certainly pass along your full comments to our CEO who is passionate about the employee experience. As noted in our most recent annual employee engagement survey, trust in leadership is at an all-time high, and based on the same survey, our credit union was named as a 2020 Best Places to Work by the San Antonio Business Journal. Our high employee engagement scores align with our high member satisfaction scores, and we are very grateful to our employees who work hard to represent and nurture a culture rooted in kindness, respect, and collaboration. We regret your experience fell short of the positive consensus our employees have expressed. Thank you for the part you have played in our credit union’s success, especially during a time of unprecedented challenge and adversity. It is our hope that you find great success as you move forward in your career.
