Pros

Great industry and lots of new technology to learn.

Cons

I left Focus Camera few years ago after working for about five years. Most part of my experience have been reflected in the negative reviews. I also heard similar stories from people who worked there since 80's. it seems to me they grew on the business side, not on the human side. Not sure how it is now, when i was there, we(even non Jews) were not allowed to bring lunch during Passover. They used to send emails asking everyone to remove any food/snacks that is not Passover Kosher. I was one of the persons working late and witnessed someone actually going through everyone's drawer to discard snacks. Even if you are not a Jew, you have to abide by the Jewish law when you work there. Manager calls employees in his room for what he calls is a meeting. But only thing he does is yelling at them. He makes others feel small. I have seen so many hard working people (Jewish and non-Jewish) left getting tired of them. My negative review is NOT towards the Jewish people or religion, it is ONLY towards the "Father in law - Son in law" management who is not familiar with the word R E S P E C T.

New and exciting changes are constantly taking place at Focus Camera. As such, many things are not the same as they have been several years ago, and definitely not the same since the 80's.

Pros

Ability to work overtime, many paid vacation days, exposure to many different online platforms, frequent attendance at trade shows, the people who work there are kind and everyone gets along

Cons

Dishonest business practices, rude and insulting management that likes to belittle the staff, pay checks late often, even if you get something in writing it may not hold up, owner's son-in-law runs day-to-day with no experience, dishonest with vendors, never pay their PO's, scam everyone on product, customer service etc. You will be talked to like garbage, made to lie and cheat daily and never feel appreciated or treated with respect.

Pros

You get a paycheck most of the time without errors.

Cons

To start with, those positive reviews are completely fake. Like another review said, management put those reviews up. Day to day operations is handled by the emotionally unstable son in law of the owner has a bad memory, yells, acts rude, and tells woman they don't dress properly. The CEO/ owner can be a little off-putting, but is reasonable in my opinion. The other managers are fine, but are always being undermined and second guessed. Previous reviews have failed to mention the blatant discrimination. There is a double standard in how employees are treated. Those who share the same faith as management are treated better. Their mistakes will be overlooked until they create a disaster. There is no HR. It is fake and run by the owner and his wife. They don't address issues and HR constantly falls on the son in law. They walk the line of legal paid time. They give you only two sick days per year, anymore time is unpaid. When they give the jewish holiday's off, you have to be past the 60 day evaluation period. There have been many instances where people have to beg to be given a chance to come in during the weekend to make up some time. This is not always granted, and when it is, you can only work limited hours, so you never recoup the time. Your vacation time is automatically deducted for the jewish holidays and they limit you when you can take it, and how much. You cannot take more than a week off, although this is overlooked for certain people.
