Pros

You get to work with an interesting group of people living all over the world.

Cons

The current senior managers are not leaders. They are anti-military spouses and contractors. They have briefed full-time employees, in writing, as well as in several meetings, that contractors are subpar employees who are unqualified and they want to "get rid of them" as project managers. The current rash of firings was disgusting. 4 out of 4 were from a protected class, and most had spoken out about the disrespect and exploitations of FLG's contract employees, poor company culture, and hostile work environment. Other items to consider: The company misclassifies 1099 employees and will expect some contract positions to cover for full-time employees while they are taking leave. Contractors can work for up to 6 months before getting any pay. Contractors are not given compensation amounts or needed materials and requirements to complete their jobs before starting. Scope increases without compensation increase. If you refuse to do additional work without compensation, there is a possibility you won't get paid at all. Unrealistic deadlines with the expectation for contractors to be on call 24/7, while full-time employees are getting unlimited PTO (personal time off) for weeks at a time, sometimes to work other jobs.

Pros

Great mission to supply jobs for military spouses and veterans that are flexible and worthwhile.

Cons

Trying to grow too quickly in an industry that will not support that growth, lack of clearly defined objectives, purge of leadership roles without rehiring has left a leadership void, pay and benefits less than other remote startups

We are driven by our mission every day! Yes, there has been some turnover with leadership, but that's customary with a fast-growing start-up. Each person brings a unique set of talents and experiences that are relevant at various stages of growth. On occasion we do not replace an individual who has left to purse another great opportunity, that gives us the opportunity to grow others through increased responsibility and to invest in our subject matter experts. In the meantime, we stay focused on our mission and our strategic plan, while committing to an excellent experience for our people and our clients.
