Pros

Remote work, well-developed machine-learning capabilities, a stable tech-stack (Vue3/Typescript front-end, python back-end) with great devops to support developers.

Cons

As a startup there's limited resources (time-wise) so there's lots to do.

Pros

* Small, super-friendly team with a diverse range of skills * Focussed product goals for a technologically compelling business problem * Strong emphasis on work/life balance with very little overtime * Autonomy on technology and product implementation decisions * A mature tech stack and dev-ops pipeline allowing for enjoyable day-to-day feature development with little firefighting * Employee welfare (was very pleasantly surprised to receive a birthday cake!) * Flexible work hours

Cons

* Predominantly remote work without a dedicated office (though regular in-person meetings -- pandemics permitting) * PDF wrangling can be a complexity kraken

Pros

- Management is very good. They are understanding and can take feedback. - Company is still in early stages so there is a lot of room for self-improvement and contributing to decisions. - People are friendly, there is no "blaming-culture", if something fails, we look at what went wrong and what we can learn from it rather than pointing fingers. - Actually good usage of agile methodology where the team contributes to choosing what can be achieved in a sprint. - Relies on trust, no performance monitoring shenanigans. - Relatively flexible hours (9-5, but no hard requirement to be always available between those times). - Remote working (meetups once every week-ish in Science Park if you are based in Exeter, but they are not compulsory) - Honestly a cool project with a lot to learn from.

Cons

- Being a startup means that your work will be needed so you might feel some pressure to finish it (no unrealistic deadlines though). - Remote working means the team is spread throughout the country, however the company still tries to get everyone together from time to time. - You get a small dell laptop, which is good if you want to work from a coffee shop for example, however you might need to already have a work setup to feel like you can be as productive as possible. - Not a lot of benefits apart from legal holiday requirement.
