Be prepared to have your limits tested. Going above and beyond, putting in extra hours and going the extra mile is often not seen, appreciated or acknowledged. When things are good, work and the office vibe is good. When it's bad, even in one department, dear lord get ready to defend yourself. Limited growth possibilities are available and staff often need to bring their laptops/technology to work due to the limited performance of technology and the internet— a known and recurring issue. Despite the high turnover of staff, owners failed to see their shortcomings and the incredible potential they had within their team. There's a lot of room for growth and development within the leadership team. But even managers acknowledged how the owners operated and rather not stir the pot, as they knew it always goes back to the old way. Office politics and frat-boy energy really hindered performance. Employees who had worked there for years displayed poor respect by watching Netflix during work. The CEO also spoke poorly about past employees often which is a huge red flag. If the owners weren't coming in for the day, everyone was in a good mood. When employees were upset and had periods where they had to take a moment to gather themselves after being heavily criticised or spoken to in a condescending tone, some staff often rolled their eyes. There is a huge lack of appreciation for the team that does all the heavy lifting — they are truly the unsung heroes. There is also very limited room for growth there. Maybe a trip overseas, but you likely won't be able to further develop your skills or grow within your role. Nor will you be presented with an payrise that reflects your true value to the team.
