Pros
High base salary compared to competitors, flexibility with junior staff, and many people who still give 110%. Recent recruits at the senior level have been positive and their communication and team structuring changes have been very effective after quite a few changes since 2019-20.
Cons
The biggest flaw I saw was the negative attitude of some staff, who have now mostly left. They let the acquisition from Capita poison their mentality and outlook on the future. Frustration with Capita processes are sometimes warranted, but companies all over the property industry get acquired and cultures are always in a state of flux. People with a lack of imagination and adaptability usually leave in periods of change, and I think the GLH is in a very different position now compared to even 6 months ago. There is a smaller core of very focused people coming together. It’s not a “sinking ship”, it’s a multi-disciplinary consultancy that has had to take stock and revise their strategy. If you have a positive attitude and get involved, people at all levels will support you in your career goals and reward your loyalty.
