I still have PTSD nightmares about working here

Pros

- Some of the people you work with become good friends - Every Thursday there was wine/beer/snacks Literally the only 2 good things about this hot mess, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars below.

Cons

I can't believe this place has a 3 star rating. That's way too high. Where to even begin... - Looooooong hours. Super late nights, all the time. Frequent weekends. All to do something that has a 50/50 chance of completely changing the next day or just being dropped. - Speaking of those late nights and weekend work, they'll only let you know about it maybe a day in advance. Then you're expected to drop your life and bend to their will. - There's also virtually no compensation for working these extra days - for every 5 you might get 1 back. - If the client likes what you've done, the Creative Directors take credit. If the client doesn't like what you've done, you get thrown under the bus. - You only get proper pay/raises/promotions/good projects if the higher ups like you. Doesn't matter if you're just as talented or work hard, it's a popularity contest. - Instead of promoting within, they will hire people with less experience than you to work above you and get paid more than you. So much for company loyalty! - Again, when they do promote within, it's dependent on whether or not they like you personally. If they don't, be prepared to wait years for that promotion, if it ever comes. - The work gets stale, fast. It might seem cool at first but everything is just recycled. Very rare to get something totally original in print or TVC. - Poor management in general, for account and creative. - Poor work distribution - if you're a Junior, you'll work on the same projects as a Senior would, but you get paid half as much. You will also often get more work than they get, so you'll put in twice as many hours and

Place is fueled by toxicity - Now it is known as Gotham

Pros

- The creative level of the work is extremely elevated - Most people are nice (even if it takes them time to warm up to you)

Cons

- Executives are the most toxic group of people I’ve ever met. They run the place with fear, and high school pettiness - the HR department is absolutely mediocre The director is a horrible human being who does thing that are extremely unprofessional to try to keep talent from leaving/ruin future opportunities - there is a lack of managerial support - they diversity wash everything. None of the execs actually care about the employees, the company culture or the way they are perceived - the CEO is the absolute worst. I only have good things to say about 1 of the people in the leadership team, simply because she was the least bad one - no opportunity for growth -extremely overworked, highly underpaid. No one will recognize your good work - H.R. offers no support, no training tools

Pros

Extremely nice, super talented and hard working group. Everyone works hard but also knows how to have a good laugh. Great dynamic and partnership across departments. Produces beautiful, integrated campaigns for iconic brand. A very personal and approachable President that is genuinely involved and cares about the staff.

Cons

Runs lean and mean so long hours at times. But this is advertising - during crunch times days are always long. When not a crunch time, employees are typically gone by 6/6:30.
