Pros

1. Its alright place to work at. 2. Not much work. 3, Everyone i worked with are nice people just wanting better for this franchise.

Cons

1. Not much work due to the fact that they don't develop much. 2. Delays in payment of salaries. 3. No clear communication and useless explaination on how the salaries are paid or not paid when not in contract. 4. Highly absorbed into making money incentive games rather than making quality games, resulting in poor quality of work or lack of direction.

Talented Team, Poor Management

Pros

I'll probably never work with a team like I did at Gaia again. They were a fun and very talented group of people. This place felt like a family and I consider myself lucky to have been a part of it. Work-life balance was a crucial part of the culture. Used to be flexible about work hours and benefits were great (100% premium covered)

Cons

It's really a shame, this place used to be such a fun place to work. Unfortunately, it wasn't always productive. - Some management hired based on their MBA, not skills or competence. Others are hired because they are good engineers/artists/etc, but it doesn't necessarily mean they make effective managers. - Lack of direction and process, making projects run very inefficiently. - Sometimes the focus is on the build limitations instead of asking "Is this fun to play" Not enough transparency/feedback between teams to know about updates/changes. - No opportunity for career growth. You do what you were hired to do and that's it. The only time you do more is when someone leaves and you take over their work, with no job title or raise. Left because I no longer felt fulfilled or valued.

Management are shutting you down!

Pros

Free lunch, and the friendly team.

Cons

The management, and the direction the company is heading. The Gaia Online community read this site, I've seen it on the Gaia Forums. If you're reading this, please, stop buying Gaia cash. The sooner the money coming in drops, the sooner Gary and his goons are going to leave, and more chance will be had of rescuing the site in some form. Mike was innovative, he worked with us one on one, talked through ideas that the office thought the community would enjoy. That left with him. He was the kindest, most realistic, down to earth employer I've ever had. Gary is taking your money. When that slows down, he will leave. Check his previous companies on LinkedIn. Until then, the site will crumble. He doesn't listen to ideas and has his own set. I'm just hoping he leaves while there's still a community left to work with.
