Pros

Most people were nice.. probably fake though.

Cons

For me it all starts with the Indeed job add they had up... still have up and probably will always have up because the turn over rate is unbelievable. Anyway the add says SALARY is $600-$900 WEEKLY. Which is a blatant lie and honestly an unbelievable accusation because even the top Sales reps there only make 2-3 sales a week which is usually split once in half for the company and then if someone else was with you they’d get a share which don’t get excited you’ll only get $150 for a sale with a senior rep and that’s if they even sell a FULL. At my interview I was told I’d get base pay of $500 a week which I thought was fair that was a higher up who told me that and I clearly remember clairifying “$500 a week” 3 or 4 times for him just to agree with that being BASE. Turns out if you’re even lucky to get base and (here comes a real quote) “can’t get 4 appointments in a day and manage to close one” your base pay works out to $250 a week. Which is $50 a day folks. Good luck putting food on the table. One of the bones I have to pick with them is that they were fine with hiring people with no experience and then their “training” was one of the senior sales reps who’s training tactics were to read basic sales tricks and talk to you like you’re stupid for not being able to do this. And then they put you on the phones.. you gotta call at least 50-60 AT LEAST a day. And the only help you get is the senior sales reps kinda judging and telling you you need to get your calls up. Oh and if they actually help you in the beggining with a sale or a call. Good luck getting a piece of it from their slimy little hands. And if your paycheque is wrong they’ll just ignore you. What I’m really trying to do here is catch someone who read the add on indeed and thought “wow! $600-$900 a week! No experience??!” Keep looking for a real job. This isn’t one. And I really wish I saw a review before hopping on board a sinking boat where everyone praises the CEO.

Thank you for the review here on Glassdoor. It is unfortunate you were not as successful as previous contractors have been here with GetAssist and we wish you the best in your future endeavors; however, after reading this I noticed a few things that stick out to me as incorrect that I would like to clarify for any future prospects thinking about joining the GetAssist team: The advertised jobs for GetAssist across the country all state that it's a commission based job with average earning potential from $600 - $900 with top sales reps making double and triple that per pay period. A pay structure is signed on the first day someone joins GetAssist as a contractor. If you do not agree with how we pay it should have been brought to your manager's attention before you started working; however, you did agree to our compensation structure on the first day so we carried forward with training! At GetAssist we do have a minimum standard we want all contractors to hit and that is 40 calls per day and 4 appointments per day. We have this standard in place because we want to ensure you make money and are able to pay your bills. The last thing we would want to do is take food off of any person's table. This all being said, I believe this sales job is not for everyone. Any direct sales job takes a strong work ethic, a solid demeanor and energy, and excitement that your prospect can connect with as we have a great program for the small business marketplace. We have grown to 6 offices across Canada and are going to be launching into the United States shortly as we grow GetAssist across the world! We wish you all the best and we hope you find what you are looking for soon in the future!

Pros

We got good pay and the offices were always clean. So we would always look legitimate and professional. That was good at least

Cons

We were pressured to lie and cheat every customer, even old people. They'd come in, we'd show them 'the ins and outs' but it was all fake. After the sale, we'd get our cut... but it sucks away your soul after a few months of it. Worst experience of my career

Pros

Some nice people. Clean, professional looking office.

Cons

Oh man. I don't usually leave reviews, but I have a feeling most of these 5 star reviews are illegitimate and decided to share my honest experience. It was horrible. I've worked at quite a few places but this one takes the cake for worst. The interview was easy, and the manager promised the world. Talked about how amazing the company is and how great the product is. But once you log into the product, it's hard to see how businesses are able to benefit from the membership. And it was a clunky UX. Most of the members on it were employees and the early adopters who came back complaining, because they realized they signed up for a platform they'd get no leads on. The sales manager would tell them not to worry and that the company has just invested millions in consumer ad spend and the platform was about to be flooded with clients because it's an "amazing product and there's nothing else like it". Really it's just a bad version of Kijiji focused on contract services in your community. What really bothered me was calling up small businesses and promising them the world. Once, I set up a meeting to go to a business and discuss the opportunity. My sales manager came along and my jaw almost hit the floor listening to the BS coming out of his mouth. After that I dropped him off back at the office and drove home never to return again. Finally, it's really hard to make money with these guys. You spend all day trying to scam small businesses and even the most experienced sales person wasn't getting anything to write home about. They always have ads on Indeed because it's a big ol' revolving door. That's my experience, anyways. 🤷🏼‍♂️
