Pros
Working with a fantastic team at Global App Testing, working in a huge industry that is growing exponentially and working with two co-founders who care deeply are the three most important pros of being here at Global App Testing. Yes, we have a great product with huge potential. Yes, we have a great office space and fun. But at the end of the day, the fundamental reason I come here every day are the three I... started out with first. You can't always manufacture those first three reasons - you can't copy them and you certainly aren't going to find them in many other startups either. I enjoy the fast-paced, frenetic approach we take to getting things done. I know it's not for everyone but I try to be frank, open and honest with people at the upfront so that they know. After more than 2 years, it hasn't slowed down and I only project it to continue.

Sometimes the hustle, grind and pace mean you need to take time away to support mental health. But, when you do this, it means you've got so much more to do when you get back. Even if that gap is a day - the pressure is still there. This is, at least from previous experience, part of being at a tech SaaS startup like Global App Testing. I've mentioned before that the place isn't for everyone and I truly believe... that. We know we need to work on some of the softer aspects of day to day work as a company and I'd like to think we're making improvements in this (although not as fast as everyone would like I'm sure).

As a member of management, I want people to know they can come to me at any time. I'm more than happy to try and support wherever and whenever I can.

Pros
Somehow they've managed to keep hold of some amazing employees for 1-2 years, but now many of them have been made redundant.
Cons
It's no exaggeration to say there are too many to list. Honestly. From the finance team questioning a bag of crisps being bought for a staff party, to the rotten SLT that somehow achieve nothing despite being in endless meetings. I'm astounded GAT has lasted this long, it certainly won't be around for much longer. Also, all of the positive reviews you read on here are written by the leadership team/HR -... which they admitted to, so don't trust a word. Avoid!

Pros
Fast growing in the technology space. Led by a good management team with a strong vision. Huge potential to grow to a very large company. Opportunity to learn from senior members and training is provided. Location is great, between Angel and Kings Cross. Fun employee events planned and the atmosphere is improving as the team gets bigger.
Cons
A growing company means changes happen often - which is actually a plus. We have an excellent leadership team.
Advice to Management
Keep up the great work atmosphere, transparency, communication, and showing how much you value your employees.

Pros
Colleagues - Global App Testing has managed to curate a workforce which is full of talented, genuine and passionate individuals. The people you work with really do soften the blow of coming into the office on a Monday morning. Company size - The team in the London office is around 30 strong which means that you have the opportunity to work with, or at least come in to contact with, people in all different... departments, this includes the chance to be working directly with the co-founders and the senior leadership team. This also means that, whether they listen or not, you are able to raise concerns right to the top without feeling like you have to go through a middle (wo)man.
Show MoreCons
Training - During the interview process for Global App Testing I was sold on an extensive training program and focus on career progression. This is completely false. There is no training structure in place, not even for your onboarding period, and you are left to struggle through hoping that what you're doing is correct. Due to a lack of training and structure at a managerial level (there is currently no sales... manager) numerous members of staff have been taken on, sold the same false promises, and unfairly dismissed when they inevitably underperform. Benefits - As far as SaaS tech companies go this is definitely on the stingier end of the spectrum. This goes for everything from salary to employee benefits and office perks. There are no drinks at the end of the week, there are no drinks at the end of the quarter and the budget for 'social events' is so low that the staff normally end up having to spend their own money at some point during the event. There is no health care, dental care, subsidised gym membership, a basic holiday allowance and no flexibility in your working. If these are the kind of things that are important to you in a job, this is not the place. Vision - As a company there doesn't seem to be a clear idea of where we're actually going and this affects the day to day of your job severely. Your job title is rendered almost meaningless given that you'll be spending most of your time doing other tasks which don't contribute to your own targets and therefore have a knock-on effect of the commission that you're (not) taking home at the end of the quarter. This lack of vision comes directly from above where it seems as though there is no logic in the way things are being run, the staff are dropping like flies - whether they leave or are fired - and nothing changes.

You like to believe you run on a set of core values such as honesty, transparency and the sacred 'trust bar'. If you're going to hold everyone within the company to such high standards then please take some time to reflect and think on how your own employees would place you on this scale. Stop writing bogus positive reviews because you're scared of how the negatives will look to people on the outside. Make the... changes that your staff have been telling you about for years and let people coming into the company see what it's like for themselves. Trust your staff. We all want this to be a wonderful place to work as much as you do. Listen, admit wrongdoings and be transparent otherwise I don't see a bright future for the company at all. You can't continue with no salespeople.

Pros
This has to be the staff they've employed. By some miracle they have got great people as colleagues the only unfortunate thing is they don't sit in the Senior Leadership team or the co founders.
Cons
I believe the reason they have got such great people is, the company is fantastic at selling a dream during the interview process. We have great training here, we take a keen interest in your development and career progression, we have great benefits (there are none). The treatment of staff over the last 6 months has been nothing short of a disaster. We actually did a grad day to mould people in commercial teams to... what we wanted but then proceeded to do no training and expected results. I've never worked in a commercial team where noise is actually viewed by the rest of the company as a negative thing, they'd rather you have headphones in and work quietly. They have company values such as "Real Talk" but if anyone executes on that and speaks honestly it is seen as being negative or you are becoming a problem. Another company value is "Trustbar" which they make a big deal about so you have to earn their trust without them having to reciprocate which I believe they call dictatorship. While we have decided to treat staff so badly the inevitable has happened and negative Glassdoor reviews have hit the company profile. Instead of taking this feedback onboard the company's response was to get rid of the negative ones (not sure on what basis they were removed) and upload clearly fake reviews and to make it even more outrageous posed as a Sales team member while treating the whole team badly. I could go into how they are against spending money on social events and motivational events and the penny pinching but all that I could slightly forgive if you just got treated with a bit of humanity. I wouldn't normally write a review however I feel a moral obligation to give the real picture and not be sold on the fantasy they created

You've done the hard part by getting good people in. Do everything in your power to retain the staff that hasn't already left and listen to them. Stop uploading fake reviews and learn from it and grow

Pros
A growing business that cares a lot about its employees and treats them very well. Lots of opportunities to develop yourself and grow within the business. Very outgoing and easy to talk to anyone in the company, no matter the level. Great offices and a very nice atmosphere that makes you feel you are part of a family.
Cons
Still a growing business that needs to improve some processes, but it's for sure on the right track.
Advice to Management
Keep up the good work and support you offer to all your people.
