Pros

- Lots of talented & smart people - Relatively high amount of freedom, no micromanagement, in general you're trusted to be a professional and given the freedom to do your job - If Gofore was allowed to be an employee-driven community of experts, it'd actually be an amazing place to work, but alas it isn't allowed to be that, because how would the founders then make bank?

Cons

The company advertises being a "pioneer" in creating an "ethical digital world". The company's founder unironically raves about the company's purpose being "radiating goodness" around it. Knowing the reality it makes want to roll your eyes so hard they'll pop out of their sockets. In reality, Gofore has an extremely simple business model: 1. Appear as an attractive employer by focusing on pull factors not based on compensation, such as culture, community, ethical values, etc 2. Hire expert people at below-market rates 3. Rent those people out to the Finnish public sector at as high hourly prices as possible to do perform extremely tedious work (primarily creating forms) in contracts that last as long as possible 4. Attempt to retain those people by appealing to the same aforementioned community values, while ensuring that their compensation is kept below market rates 5. Channel as much of profits as possible to "investors", i.e. the company founders There's nothing extraordinary about this of course, but it makes you want to puke in your mouth when the founder/CEO talks about all these fluff values while the only real objective seems to be an ever higher stock price & more money for themselves. There is zero reason for the company to be public, because it has zero need for capital. The only ones benefiting are the founders. It's a huge shame, because the company at its core is a self-organizing community of talented people. Shame that to work in that community, you sign away more than 50% of your income to feed a class of vampires that provide nothing in return while spouting hypocritical bs.

Pros

Self-direction, work-leisure balance, nice co-workers

Cons

Company is turning into a cold money making system. Strategy 2021 states only "We will be a 250M company" without commenting how or what. There are soon 10 levels of hierarchies inside the earlier totally flat organization. These structures are lure suboptimization, power plays and free riders and other feats of a toxic organization. It seems that the run of the new CEO has been mainly to maximize the money paid for shareholders during the big exit during 2021. If you are coming from some big bureaucratic organization, this will still be a dream come true. If you have experience of low-hierarchy, modern IT- houses, stay away.

Pros

- lot of experienced and nice work colleagues and many projects that are steady, long program-related projects - no micro-management, experts are trusted to handle projects the best way they feel like. Very flat organization. - possibility to learn and grow substance-wise - a possibility to make a change and have a positive impact, especially via eGov and digital public sector services - part-time working is acceptable and easily agreed - large and solid market position as one of the largest software consultancy in Finland - nice happenings and team events for all kinds of people, not just nerds or sports-enthusiasts

Cons

- Too fast growth! Several acquisitions in a small period of time have clearly shattered the once very solid company culture. - Very flat organization model for a company this big. If you like to have clear management hierarchy and team roles, and need to have agreed processes for your work, Gofore is not the place for you, at least not yet. - lack of proper productization of their services - lack of feedback of one's performance - very few possibilities to career rise - you have to be very pro-active to get interesting projects and roles, also sales-wise - teams and team mates change all the time, if you are not in a long project - In Helsinki you might end up working full-time in the customer premises which v'can lead to not feeling like you belong in your work community
