Pros

None. This company is terrible.

Cons

with 20 years of retail experience, this is the worst company I have ever worked for. Underpaid Hard labor. Demanded long route. Backstabbing staff. Lazy coworkers. Two faced salesmen. I spent most of my six months with Gulf Distributing thinking I was going to be working side by side with the salesman only to be left doing all of the hard labor at each store by myself. They will take the credit for everything when things are going great, but the salesmen will gladly place all of the blame on the merchandisers when a mistake occurs. Salesmen get paid according to how much they order from each store, and you will be overworked at this job because they are only trying to screw over their own company to make themselves look better and to get paid more while they put the work on you and other kids that do some work and look at their cell phones and flirting with girls.

Pros

Easy job to get. There are positions always opening.

Cons

You work so many hours, you literally have no time for anything else. It's a cool job at first, especially being competitive, but then everything you once loved about the job is driven into the ground by their horrible management style. They don't care about your family life. The turnover is so unreal! There is no appreciation for your hard work and excessive amount of time spent from your family so you can make a dime and they can fill their deep pockets. I can go on. At the end of the day, they have to sleep with the way they treat their people every day. Very very greedy company. If you make too much money, well no fear, they will keep cutting your pay. You work holidays, from Christmas- July 4th. They will do anything for an extra dollar. Run away, fast.

Pros

Coworkers were awesome, clean facility.

Cons

Where do I begin? This is the most immoral, unethical, unprofessional company in which I have ever worked. If you want to get ahead in this company, be a liar and a cheat. The old product is hidden during audits (check the trailers in the lot). Push for sales to meet bonuses for the top men results in that same product being brought back out of date and returned to stores (check your dates on your beers people!). This causes even more work for the salesman, truck drivers, and warehouse employees, whose bonuses are affected, yet management still gets their bonuses. Speaking of bonuses, the disparity in these are astronomical. Warehouse employees can expect a bonus of about $50 while some management receive bonuses in the tens of thousands for Christmas. The more stuff you hide, the more you lie and cook the books, the higher your pay. But watch out, if they determine you make too much, you will eventually be fired for some stupid reason so they can disperse the workload on the other employees, or hire someone at half the pay. But if you kiss butt and are willing to take a lower rate of pay, you will move up fast. Your indescretions will be ignored. Example, a manager accused and found guilty of sexual harrassment was suspended and brought back and is now a manager. Another 30+ year employee that knew too much, didn't kiss butt, and had one alligation was terminated immediately. Sound fair? It wasn't. Accountants who question the books are immediately terminated. Office staff was reduced to almost non-existent as people were terminated and the remaining few were left to absorb the workload. Any perks lower level employees may have had in the past have become or are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Upper management are treated like royalty and are on a closed door policy. Employees are supposed to keep their heads down and not approach the management at all about issues. If they do, it's off with their heads! Employees there work tirelessly, at the expense of family time, to be treated like slaves and lowlifes. Upper management enjoy wonderful perks of ruling mercilessly, getting bonuses well for it, lying, cheating, kissing butt and cooking books.
