Pros

Getting myself out of this toxic workplace

Cons

Hmm. The self appointed CEO is totally reckless and out of touch with self control and responsibility. She controls everything from HR and from personal experience she is actually a bully, who micromanages everyone she doesn’t care about anyone other than herself and promotes hand picks individuals she likes. This woman has underlying issues and needs urgent help to better manage herself.

Pros

Only verbal aggression, not physical Occasional work travel - respite from toxic and awkward workplace (depending who you're travelling with :( ) Other people in the hub office (other workplaces) are supportive when your own company is not.

Cons

Where can I start? Not only is the pay pretty abysmal, covid saw the opportunity for digital harrassment via Slack and Google Meets as opposed to physical no transparency when it comes to decision making unfair workloads, working often into the night senior management using aggression and bullying tactics to undermine 'lower-level' staff separate HR, which means nothing ever really changes for the staff that would benefit and leadership team continue to collect benefits, reaping the rewards of other people's hard work.

Pros

Really good organisation, with a very friend atmosphere. Helen is an excellent CEO and, for the charity sector, the benefits and perks you get are really good. So you do get the best of both worlds (third sector - making a difference, private sector - decent equipment, pay was good, benefits)

Cons

I'd say you really have to care and feel passionate for the cause (digital exclusion) to get the most out of it, if it's something you don't feel strongly about, it could be quite dry. I also never felt like I had job security, but that may have just been me and decided to leave as I felt like I could have been let go at any time.
