Pros

Got to work with some brilliant minds, very dynamic culture, great leadership within some parts of the NZ business, made some good friends, great place to learn depending on your role and lots of things happening like new product launches which made the day more enjoyable.

Cons

Below than average salary compared to other FMCG companies, a lot of back biting & politics, less deserving staff members getting roles they shouldn’t, too many family members working in teams hence allowing favouritism, after new change of management jobs got restructured and a lot of knowledge was lost. People get so comfortable in their roles and try and push their workload onto other team members, senior management are never aware of what’s going on in teams or they turn a blind eye, senior managers are in meetings all day long, used to be a great company to work for but as of the last 2 years all has gone downhill. Too many changes and not enough right people in the right roles.

Pros

Free Bread, Breakfast. Samples etc.

Cons

No training No Culture No strategy No development If you have an ounce of talent then my suggestion is to avoid Goodman Fielder. Simply look elsewhere, otherwise it will dawn on you in a year that this advice was prudent and your talent will be extinguished. This company is so full of dead fish it's rotting from within A boys club culture with little skill and little empathy they are hazardly hopeless. Middle management suffer from cognitive dissonance , tell staff one thing then bow down to superiors to make there own lives easier. Old men hanging on until retirement. Vanilla products with no go to market strategy. There is no such thing as strategy in fact ,it changes so often than you become so confused you are ineffective. Literally zero training. This has to be the worst training organisation I've ever been involved with. They seriously haven't a clue. A performance review system which is so blurred you will be screwed over by faceless men and women who have never met you. A salary saving strategy. I would say they pay decently. That's the only saving grace. So if youre inclined to work for a pay cheque and that's it. Sure Goodman Fielder is great. But if you're not you'll end up like the droves of people resigning.
