Pros

The salary and benefits are good, especially for those who are starting a career. It is a very dynamic company, where one can be chose for a project suddenly, . They hire very good professionals (with great logical reasoning).

Cons

There is a huge lack of organization: there are no mapped processes; Lack of knowledge management (for instance, people are fired without any idea of where to find their project files); Version control of the developed software is non-existent; Software documentation is something just to tell customers, there is no development roadmap but rather "Let's solve the problems of those who are almost suing us". The environment and culture are horrible: The board does not listen to the interests of its employees, it exploits them (half of the company has a position of trust, to not pay overtime) and sothe turnover in the company is very high, however the board pretends that it does not exist . For instance: a company of ~ 2002, with ~ 40 employees, but with employees of a maximum of 3 years in the company (and they are few), usually who enters stays mostly for 1 year until quitting. Profit sharing is something that has only been paid in the past, but they advertise to anyone who enters as a huge benefit, however they find a motive to not pay (there is no defined criteria or method of calculation!).

Pros

Very flexible hours Huge projects allow you to have an impact Above the market compensation Food and drinks always available Highly skilled co-workers

Cons

Still relies on a few very outdated technologies A lot of legacy code to be maintained Can be very time demanding Very narrow minded upper management (employees have, more than once, been punished for voicing their disagreement with the CEO) Can be very demotivating

Pros

Small teams with multiple projects, meaning there is plenty of space for the personal and technical development that comes from wearing multiple hats. Are flexible with working hours, have nice benefits and a decent salary.

Cons

They look for great programmers to hire but ends up putting them in obsolete/plain simple tasks. Product owners acting as project managers and doing nothing of what is expected of either, ending up with messy planning, scheduling and priorization of tasks. Teams with high workload and meaningful projects while others are pretty much wasting their time throughout the day for the lack of tasks. Little to no recognition of the developer role on what is delivered.
