Worst company to work in

Pros

There are none. None at all but you can learn few things from MD: 1) How to blame others for your incompetence 2) How to make other people life's miserable 3) How to NOT run a company 4) How to NOT earn employee's respect 5) How to NOT behave with employees 6) How to poke nose in everyone's work even if you don't understand anything about it or have never done that thing in life 7) How to be a hypocrite with no knowledge or skills 8) How to be a small man with a big ego

Cons

MD doesn't know anything about running a business or making it a successful one. He knows only one thing - Copying from others. He runs the company like a small retail shop. He doesn't have any vision or goals for the company, Company doesn't have a fully functional mobile site and app till now. 15 years old company, doesn't even have a completed mobile site and app. You can imagine now how things work there. New ideas are turned down because of MD's small ego and zero trust in employees. MD's only goal in life is to keep you busy by extreme micromanagement, that's it. And for that he will go to any extent, literally, he will say anything just to prove he's right and make you work 12 hours every day. He wants to know what you did every hour. He has very orthodox views and lives in his own world and not a leader at all. Tries to lead by fear, but that too doesn't work. Has no empathy, no understanding, no knowledge of how things work and is a hypocrite. A quote that aptly fits here: "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience" The team size has reduced from 30 to 16 in the last 2 years. Actually, they know people will leave soon after joining because of their bad behaviour and treatment so they make you sign a 2 years contract. But people still leave the company breaking the contract because MD's behaviour is so bad with the employees. So in short no learning, no work-life balance, salary delayed (can be delayed for 2 months), boring monotonous work, no new interesting projects, etc. Do not join GulfTalent, it's the worst company, you will be better off working in a startup. At least there you will be valued and respected and have great learning as well.

Pros

Salary - it is better than most of the employers BUT doesn't beat the top notches.

Cons

Micromanagement redefined - you will eventually have to agree with higher management's idea or be ready for lengthy discussions on the same topic lasting anywhere from 2 hours to infinite. Goes to the level where even buying a very simple office item ends up in a two weeks' "review." Extremely paranoid - they feel pride in saying they don't trust anyone and you will know you're part of that "anyone." No trust shown in terms of anything related to work/office whatsoever; even the longest serving employees know no details about anything. You need to report each and everything in absolute detail; initially you'd be asked only to provide general update but that will eventually finish into the deepest detail you could provide. Extremely controlled work environment - even where and how you sit needs to be defined by the highest level of management. You will feel like your hands are tied behind and you still need to produce at your best. I assume you guys are imaginative enough to think of the consequences! Confidence reaching arrogance - the confidence reaches arrogance for what they have produced. And that leads sometimes to publish misleading reports. Even good change not welcomed - almost impossible to bring any change because of the points mentioned above. And the main reason they still have a legacy system they are proud of. No fun at work - be "professionals" is the mantra. And that means not even talk about anything else. And when the higher management isn't around everyone just let lose.
