Pros

Great team, fine enough work, great sense of camraderie

Cons

I’ve never worked under leadership that is so wilfully contemptuous of its workforce. There is a distinct lack of respect for employees below the line, particularly those in junior roles and especially towards female members of staff. This is well documented and one of many words of warning that are passed onto new team members when they arrive. There is a general assumption from leadership that the employees are “lesser”; their professional opinions on their craft are discarded offhand, often in favour of a definitively worse alternative. Bullying from the director is commonplace and good luck going to HR - it's his wife. This creates an oppressive culture of survival, with each new day presenting another opportunity for the leadership to micromanage, coerce and manipulate their workforce seemingly for their own amusement. Opportunities in this space are hard to come by, but my experience here has proven that some opportunities are just not worth the therapy bill.

Pros

Colleges are great, at least we all suffer together.

Cons

This would be a great place to work if it wasn’t for the boss. Unfortunately he is egotistical, narcissistic and childish. With no understanding of the technical aspects of the industry he often demands excessive unpaid overtime to accomodate his poor managerial skills, failure to comply without question will undoubtedly result in but not limited to; harassment, bullying and belittling. Often making personal remarks and attacks on employees for nothing more than being in his vicinity when he’s in a bad mood. Steer clear of this place, I know a full-time opportunity in this industry in Perth is tempting but it’s not worth it.

Pros

The most amazing team, all trauma bonded for life.

Cons

Be ready to be personally attacked for having any drive, passion or even friendships with other colleagues because of the boss’s ego and jealousy. HR? haha no, that’s his wife. Mental health leave? Hahaha you must be weak and unable to cope (with his bullying and forced over working maybe?). An abusive, manipulative human who feeds off of bringing down his staff so they are so scared to stand up for themselves and forced out. Oh and did I mention the gender pay gap and inappropriate sexual advances???? Yeah, good luck if you’re a woman.
