Advancement opportunites are the number one reason for working for HEI. There are many areas one can expand one's experience into as long as you display the drive and motivation to doing so. Management is open to ideas on innovation and streamlining especially from those in the 'trenches'. Employee morale is really good to use an old cliche it really is a family like atmosphere and as such there is always a lot of support when you need it. It is not only a job it is actually a life style. With HEI you will travel to parts of the USA you didn't even know existed and you will grow as a result of these unique experiences.
"Not working is not an option" ever....direct quote from management. The job is time intensive and you must be always ready to go, go, go. I suppose that to be fair it is the nature of the work to be in continous motion but at times it can really be overwhelming. As a result of this there really is not much of a balance in terms of work/life issues. You can only take time off in the most extreme of circumstances and even then it is often clear that you create a vaccum with your absence and others must pick up the slack. The compensation is decent and fair but compared to other companies in the same buisness it is not particularly lucrative.

I enjoy the guests and appreciate the hard working sales staff.
Management and Human Resource is Horrible...You cannot give any constructive criticism with out some sort of passive aggressive retaliation..It unfortunately has turned into a untrusting work environment between Hourly Employees, Management, and The Company itself. Communication is Horrible!! Employees are left hanging on a week to week basis..this is so they can change the ground rules to the next level to get more work out of you, or get you to quit...The feeling is- They want anyone that has worked for any longevity out.. and new and cheaper in...no matter what your work ethics are...or if your management or hourly...In one year they have turned this property from a luxury hotel into a cheap nickel and dime on the beach..This company has no ethics or class...just$$$

The hotel is great! It's busy mid-week and has a lot of functions on the weekends. The hotel sells itself. A lot of industry around and also 10 hotels on the same street. Great place to work but I worked for a great GM who is no longer there.
People come and go so it's hard when there is turnover at the front desk. Meals are free and it's right off the highway so it's easy to get to.

The people were very nice. Great opportunity to learn about a Medical Device company. The company offered a decent pay wage.
To many responsibilities for one person. Need more qualified people to do the salary work. People were let go every 3 months. Favored employees can display negative energy. Not a stable place to work for and no opportunities for growth.1

I work at the private country club and golf course at La Paloma letting me have the best view of the gorgeous golf course and breath taking sunsets in the world everyday. The crew is awesome and works together and the manager genuinely cares about her people.
The computer system sucks and how you have to enter in tickets to close them out is stupidly tedious.

Since being hired two years ago, I have gone from part time to full time, earned benefits, and the opportunity is increasing. The perks are two fold since they are managers, we are offered management perks AND perks of the brand
Some of the challenges about working at my location is the supervisors may take suggestions for improvement but there are many hoops to jump through before implementation.1

Opportunity to turn the company around from loosing money to being in the black and earning positive revenue.. I had a great working relationship with all my senior management peers and subordinates.
The executive staff and the bank were not willing to wait long enough for the improvements to take hold. In one more month the facility would have been in the black.
