Compensation and benefits:
Compensation is below average for the area and type of business. Benefits are decent but not the best. Vacation time is 1-2 weeks tops when you start. Bonuses and raises are very very biased and cherry picked by the president of the company.
Management and Tasks:
Micromanaging at its finest from the very top. You will be told to do things, then undo them, then redo them. Then weeks or months down the road asked why you made a change to something (that upper management originally requested). This all leads to a very bi-polar style of management as directors are not trusted to do their proper roles. No decision gets made by the directors team as everything comes and goes directly to the top. The environment is that the President of the company is mommy and everyone is her child, beneath her and talked to as such.
Getting anything simple done can be an act of utter chaos and make you want to constantly scream ...."WHYYY?????????" All this contribute to a very high turnover. Dont expect to stay at this company more than 1-2 years.
Fortunately there are a small handful of managers to sometimes can shield you from all the back and forth nonsense. However there are a few people in positions of power (an illusion at best) that have no business being in charge of others and borderline on incompetence.
Everything comes in waves. Things will be relatively tame and laid back for days or weeks (when president is away) and then everything described above happens so a thick skin is very necessary during these times.
