Pros

Resilience of staff. They don't get audited by the ATO anywhere near as often as they should (because they'll be in a lot of trouble when that day comes!)

Cons

Only three of the partners have any say in the decisions and they are extremely stubborn, arrogant and out-of-touch in their management style. I felt sorry for the other partners who are chained to these imbeciles. Pay is well below market rate (a common question in interviews was, "How much is the least amount of money that you would accept?"). Leadership was uninspiring, since the partners themselves don't have any technical skills and are basically glorified salesman who were lucky enough to buy-in at the right time. Not a very good learning environment because good employees don't stick around long. Turnover, particular in 2015, was extremely high, with average stay under 6 months. I've never worked in a place which had such little shame in treating you like nothing more than a number, and everyone there feels this, so the culture of the place is quite depressing. For many staff, their way of coping was to joke about just how bad the work culture is.Salary reviews are conducted only once-per-year, and they prefer to give out titles rather than money. Everything which should make your work easier (admin processes, computer systems, support staff) are all hugely inefficient there, and actually make your job harder. People always brought this up at reviews, but the partners didn't listen because they're out-of-touch. The leadership style which is rewarded there is the, 'jump up and down and scream until you get what you want'-type style. Partners often demean employees publicly, rather than calling them into their offices and closing the door when necessary (so the pace is set at the top). People are promoted because they stick around, as opposed to whether they show the skills to progress, which is how all the partners got there (an inside joke is that they could never successfully recruit an external partner). Basically an uninspiring, cheap, big boys club. No-one really wants to be there, they're just working towards something else, and when you see the way the Big Three treat the other partners, you understand why. There is no future at Hall Chadwick, at least not at the Sydney office. The place is circling the drain

Thank you for the feedback. Hall Chadwick is committed to creating a collaborative and friendly environment for all our employees so I’m very disappointed to hear about your negative experience during your employment with us. We are continually working on improving the experience and working environment for staff. Ongoing training is a priority at Hall Chadwick to support learning and development of employees. Our staff receive regular technical and practical training. Salary reviews are conducted bi-annually for remuneration and promotions. The opportunity to communicate with management is encouraged. Once again, your feedback is important to us and we will do our best to continue to improve our firm.

Pros

Views are nice. Good location. Woolworths is just across the road so you can do your shopping on the way home

Cons

Heard that DK (problem partner) was asking staff to go onto glassdoor website to write nice things about the company. That sums it up pretty well - instead of taking feedback onboard and trying to address the obvious problem, instead just lie about it and try to cover it up and change nothing LOL. Those other reviews are right too - they are cheap and very arrogant people to work for

Pros

-The office and the view of the CBD is absolutely amazing. -You meet a lot of smart people with kind hearts. It's a shame really how many talented individuals enter Hall Chadwick and leave soon after.

Cons

- The staff turnover is ridiculously high, it was very common to see one staff member in the business services division leave every week. - The firm has about 12-15 partners, of those partners only 3 of them have decision making power due to how the firm was set up and the distribution of equity. - Pay is below market rate across the board. - Resistance to change. When I arrived I was told that they had made a transition away from paper and were looking for everything to be done electronically but every desk was filled with paper. Partners even asked for electronic work papers to be printed out and reviewed. - Public shaming of staff- very common to see partners come out and yell at staff members. My advice to the partners would be maybe take them to your office instead of yelling at them in front of there colleagues? - The client base is a mess, nearly every job you are given has been completed incorrectly the previous year or has some sort of issue with it. Very common to see false promises being made to clients in which employees can't deliver on because of the workload they have. At Hall Chadwick clients aren't retained, they are poached for a year, become disappointed in the service they are given and leave soon after. - No appreciation of staff and there efforts. Very common to see staff working until late at night and even coming in on the weekends to try and get work out but no matter what you do it isn't enough. - There is no guidance. A manager will be lucky to last 6 months at Hall Chadwick before leaving. How can staff members develop with no manager or when a manager leaves after 6 months?
