Pros

When i joined minivator the company valued all input from the staff acting on it more often than not .

Cons

When handicare took over a blame culture was introduced and good staff alienated for having an opinion that didn't chime with the lower management yes men this lead to low moral within what used to be a quality workforce. I have never seen such a nose dive in quality and moral.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. In addition to the regular open door policy that HR have, we try to encourage our teams and employees to speak openly about any concerns or frustrations, whether this be via our online and paper employee surveys or voiced at our bi -monthly Associate Committee where we ask for feedback and employees can discuss any issue they feel is important. This can both anonymously or in person. Last year the UK team launched its 2020 vision and strategy and we are currently implementing initiatives to help us achieve our ambition to become the UK's leading stairlift provider in a very competitive market. We value all feedback, from our customers, employees, and partners as it helps us review and develop the way we do things.

The company is unfortunately a meat grinder!

Pros

Good package in terms of life assurance.

Cons

Poor correlation between initiative and effort put into the job and reward. Anyone found to be hardworking and competent was given more work and responsibility, but no corresponding reward, hence the title of 'meat grinder'.

Pros

Laid back-self directed work, free agency to work and act as you please, amazing work environment where you are contracted to.

Cons

The worst management I have ever encountered. Managers are promoted but expected to maintain previous responsibilities so they have no time to actually manage (usually salesman so they'll be traveling). Complaints or requests are completely ignored so supplies needed for crucial jobs are never on time and directions for projects don't get answered in a timely manner. Managements will frequently pull the "handbook is vague enough that I can punish/fire you for x,y, or z" nonsense if you don't go along with some plan. Many technicians are poorly trained and a lot of skills are picked up as you go. Along with the poor training there is absolutely no accountability when people violate safety standards (for installers especially who cut corners or are expected to perform unsafe procedures to meet deadlines (especially very tight ones set by managers who try to please clients after ignoring previous pings for work)). Managers usually take on way too many projects to try to turn a profit without a care about the technicians actually ability to complete any of them thoroughly. A culture of self-promotion at the expense of anyone else is pervasive and the company as a whole appears to be a huge "profit before all else" culture. Product, parts, and even HR is so behind and slow that weeks and months are the expected timeline for anything to reach local branches.
