Pros

Pays well due to limited amount of engineers in LA, you cash some money

Cons

We interviewed someone for the engineering team but this person was not given the role, and the CEO decided to give a leadership position regardless. For the first time in my professional life, I saw something happening that I have never heard of before. Direct reports of this person at the previous company reached out to the team at Heal to let everybody know about this person issues. Nonetheless, this person brought the same issues to Heal and broke the entire team. Lack of communication and clear vision, lots of unnecessary meetings consuming the scarce time available to develop anything, forcing the engineering team to hire people that did not pass the technical interview just because they are friends and Indians. The engineering team is currently on halt and not producing anything to move the company further. A general lack of respect for people's professional careers and their contributions to the company. According to this person's previous team, this person had so many complaints with HR that they were already planning to let this person go because the whole company was complaining how this person destroyed projects, the self-esteem of engineers and productivity. Exactly the same thing this person is doing at Heal. Stay away! You don't want to work here. It's not anymore about bring good people, but bringing friends and giving them a much bigger pay than everybody else that built this company.

No one is meaningless at this company... we all have something to contribute, and we have brilliant people working for us! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We'll work more to understand how to better communicate and become more transparent, and have been making significant strides to move in that direction, as you may notice from the last all-hands meeting. Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. It's thorough and it shows that you care. I hope that since it was written that you have noticed the changes we have enacted and are projecting and working towards. We truly do care. Have a great day.

Pros

The money is good and if you are good at manipulating people, this is the place for you.

Cons

Crazy surreal environment. You get beaten down so much by Nick Desai and his crazy wife Renee that you forget what normal is. Everyone walks around on egg shells and looks shell shocked. There is a lot of yelling and negativity.

Pros

Decent pay, free health insurance, location, the mission itself, (some) great people

Cons

The only way to grow in this company is to be manipulative, available 24/7 and take credit for other people's work. If you're logical, have a strong opinion, call people out on their BS and have a life outside of Heal, you won't last. Whoever wrote "Don't Believe the Hype" captured the rest, perfectly.

Hello, We understand that everyone's experience may be subjective, and appreciate that you've taken the time to share your concerns. We are a scrappy and hands on company. Our passion and vision comes from the CEO and CMO, and it's quite rare to see leaders at this level to be so passionate and hands-on at all levels of the organization. I am sorry if anyone has taken credit for the work that you have done. Please always feel free to engage me at any time if you feel that you have been misrepresented or if I may be of any service. - Edgar
