Fresh grads get cheated to come in, exp people would resign after 2 weeks
Pros
The colleagues. Everyone is extremely caring and helpful. No one is going to backstab you or steal credit from you. It is a really heartwarming group to work with, sans ED. A lot of people leave so you usually get promoted quite quickly if the job is done well.
Cons
Organisation has an extremely high turnover rate with staff leaving almost once every 2 to 3 months. More often than not, the reason is that they were unable to work within the management's unrealistic standards. Micro-management is also evident. Management vets through every email, mailers, forms, and admin work, right down to its punctuations. Organisation is also taking in projects at a very high rate, at the expense of overstretching their staff. Doing this while their foundation isn’t strong enough to hold takes a toll on everyone else, especially when a staff leaves or when a new staff comes in. KPI has taken a backseat “from the previous review”. Now it is based on her personal opinion of you. It might be worthy to note that the management had no experience prior to being put at the top. Her qualifications and past work experience were unrelated to the current field and had instead received the role due to a close friendship with the founder. On top of that, as an management who sets the expectations for the company, she has zero work-life balance. It was once implied during a staff meeting that one of her definitions of being hard-working is when "you spend many many hours a day day on your project". In that same vein, despite these being our basic rights, colleagues who work late into the night and/or forfeit their time off or MC were revered. Management fails to see how much effort everyone puts in. The physical environment of the company has been toxic since their move to the new site. The organisation uses untreated wood with dust particles filling the space. The effects of these include stinging pain in your eyes and nose whenever you enter the office. I’ve heard that one of the staff left due to a relapse in their asthma attacks during their time there. This added on to the many reasons why employees left as well. Simply put, none of the employees feel safe here and most just want a way out.
