Terrible Place to Work

Pros

It's a job. Some great people.

Cons

They do not match 401K and you do not own stock in the company so you might as well not take their 401k so when you leave you don't have transfer fees, they do not give raises, they do not pay yearly bonus', no vision insurance, they lie about being ISO compliant, no communication from management to staff, CEO never comes around and neither does the president so the office directors pretty much run things how they see fit and they are not qualified to manage people (they are trained engineers not business managers), nothing showing respect to employees. They don't pay their bills on time, they refuse to put money back into the people. Most of the amazing staff has ran out of there because they know the grass is greener on the other side! Can't get much worse.

Henneman Engineering Response

Thank you for your candid review. We take feedback from current and past employees very seriously, and we are committed to continuous improvement. Henneman Engineering is a family owned, ISO Compliant engineering firm with amazing staff who provide state of the art designs to all of our customers. Our firm provides annual open discussions with our staff. During these events, employees make recommendations for improvements to our policies, processes, career enhancement opportunities and we discuss salary adjustments. We take our ISO compliance very seriously and we are continuously adopting efforts to improve our processes and deliverables. This quality control effort is implemented by our senior staff. Newer employees, like yourself, may not have been involved in the complete process. There are many elements to the daily operation of each office that a new staff member may not realize. Our CEO travels to each office regularly (normally monthly) to meet with staff and interact with the office leaders. During these visits there may be other priorities that may monopolize their time and staff members may not realize they are in the office. Similarly, each office director meets with the President of Henneman Engineering and other office directors on a weekly basis to discuss team management, advancement, and opportunity.

Their response to the negative review is comical

Pros

It's an income, at first it seems great then you learn the truth.

Cons

Everything else. Ask any of the 15+ people that have left in the 1.5 years. Many of whom were there for many years and at least 4 of those were directors/VPs. So their comment to the last post would not apply to those people.

Great city location, but bad work environment.

Pros

Great location in the city. Across from Union Station. Good pay. Gym inside the building. Good food places around the area. A few good people to work with.

Cons

No respect for time. Last minute tasks, when it could have been easily prevented and done on a timely manner. A lot of unnecessary drama. Bad work environment. Bad management on all levels. Old office building. Which would have been fine if there was some decent water filtration. Everything was moldy.
