Pros
1) Best work culture, if you are looking for perfect work life balance, then this is the place to be. 2) 100+ years old company, so job security is good. Company's leadership is very strong (CEO office). 3) Compared to other industries, co growth is slow. But Herman Miller always plays for long term. 4) Pretty much open culture, one can move easily to other roles within Herman Miller. 5) Pay is reasonable. 6) Best place for designers & industrial engineering people.
Cons
1) HM India shared services is a very tiny org, close to 120 employees. Very limited growth options. Absolutely no team work. 2) Almost all roles in Bangalore office are individual contributor roles, so you will not get much exposure, unless you are very assertive. 3) As this is a very old company, people you will be working with in US and UK are with HM for last 20 to 30 years, so expect your onsite team members to be above 50, where as avg age in India is 27 years. 4) Few people in India Leadership team have got their jobs by chance. Shared services Director calls for a monthly meeting & talks about how many people joined, employee birthdays & does some dumb math calculation and shows that his team is growing. In this meeting he himself calls as a Leader. Whereas people who have come here from other great companies know, what kind of joker he is. 5) In shared service center, promotions are just for decoration. You will be given Team Lead title, where as the work you do will not change. Only on papers you are TL.
