Pros

The publisher position offers lots of flexibility. You can work around your family's schedule and do it from home. It also allows you to be out and about in your local community, building relationships.

Cons

The ramp up time to build a site from scratch is at least 3 months. By the time you have enough subscribers to finally sell an advertisement it could easily be 2 or 3 additional months. That's 5-6 months and hundreds of hours at ZERO pay. The estimate that I was given about salary was $25-30K for 25 hours each week -- I've been working for a year now and this salary is still way out of reach, like basically unobtainable. I would love to know how many publishers are making anywhere near this salary range. My guess is maybe the top 5%, if that, are making this much. There are many vacant sites and lots of turn-over. It's understandable that this company appeals to stay at home moms, but it's beginning to feel almost criminal to have us working so hard for very little to no pay and no benefits. Can you imagine a workforce of men agreeing to so many hours for such little pay?

Pros

Great opportunity for a SAHM that would like to earn some extra $ and still have the flexibility to be home with kids. Gets you out in your community, meeting people, giving you a sense of purpose, other than being a parent.

Cons

Definitely not going to become a millionaire, but once you build a successful site there is the opportunity to make a very nice supplemental income to cover those dance/sports classes, add to the vacation fund, pay my Starbucks bill :), etc..

Pros

Pros- Make your own hours. It is advertised as a flexible job for parents and in that light it is if you work it. Connects you in with the community is a plus.

Cons

Can't get behind the consciousness of those running the company- very mainstream. The idea is great of connecting families and communities via activities for children. However, it feels very exclusive and directed towards a particular type of family and income bracket. You have to pay for training! Takes awhile to make any money if any.
