Not a nice place to work

Pros

Aircon available in the office? Clutching at straws here to be honest. Pay is decent but it’s a slog. The work is actually interesting but…

Cons

Morale is so low across the board. Serious change fatigue. Over 3 years on a merry go round watching colleagues being fired and made redundant to land back at the same starting point. Of course we’re told it’s not the same business model as when they took over- but it certainly looks like it. Monthly engagement surveys are a total whitewash. UK MD who has the lowest (chronically low) engagement score is promoted to IG Consumer CEO. Investor relations reports with some serious creative license claiming the number of products released. And of the big ones, you have to ask whether they have been successful- only a handful of clients trading crypto; the new platform is how many months late now? And just for good measure they will make you force 20% of your team into underperforming scores every 6 months, even when they are performing perfectly well - resulting in more attrition and feeding the morale virus.

Thank you for sharing your views. On the restructuring: this is a strategic move which will bring our regional divisions together under one unified business unit, IG Consumer, with new global leadership across product, technology, commercial and compliance — designed to simplify the organisation, concentrate talent, and move faster. These specifics you mention deserve a proper conversation, not a Glassdoor reply — the engagement survey concerns, the promotion decision, product reporting, and forced distribution on performance ratings. I'd encourage you to raise them either with your manager or your local HR Business Partner, who can look into each of these in more detail.

Pros

Lots happens all the time - chance to learn and work on new things. Working with some clever people who are doing clever things.

Cons

London office has been allowed to get pretty ropey, but moving to new one soon which will be good.

Thanks for the review, and for sharing what's working at IG. Glad the pace and the people are landing for you; that's the environment we're consciously building, and it's good to hear it from someone living it day to day. We're really looking forward to our new office space: a larger office, bigger meeting rooms, gym and cycle facilities. It'll be worth the wait!
