- Competitive salary for Ottawa area - Good benefits

Cons

- Instantel has non technical managers - No defined software development process - Very high turnover - Instantel is owned by Stanley Black & Decker which pushes for company's organic growth in the market where it is not possible. - Very poor decision making by the management which leads to a profit losses and people are leaving the company. - Unhealthy relationships between the teams inside the company. - Constant scope creeps. - No career growth - No cafeteria

Great non-management people, even though a lot of them left or about to.

Cons

The management do not ask the technical people how things should be done and how long it would take. The result is unrealistic timelines with wrong hardware/software designs.....

- By luck or design, they have a lot of excellent people in a small company. - Former ISO 9001 experience has been beneficial producing a well documented and well understood set of working procedures. - A lot of stability with a cast of long serving employees.

Cons

- Too many decisions made by parent company made based on numbers. - Failure to appreciate good people when they are there. - Perhaps a bit too strong dependence on procedure, causing a fair bit of unnecessary bloat or 'fat' in workloads.
