No Values - Lack of Leadership

Pros

Most of the team they hire is motivated and hard worker. The product in its beginnings had a real value proposition and you can see the impact on actual people's lives

Cons

After reading the recent reviews Ironhack is getting, I totally felt identified with the experience the colleagues are writing about, so even if I stopped working for Ironhack more than a year ago it's time to write about it. It's totally toxic. Leadership is appointed by how friends you are with the founders, and 95% of the times, it's a white -middle aged man from a private school with no previous leadership experience. During covid they used the excuse to cut a huge % of the employees just to lower the fixed cost of the business in order to secure a new investment round. Afterwards, the founders and HR would give a speech to the rest of the company with the claim "work harder to bring back your colleagues that we had to let go". Totally manipulative and out of touch, now that I think of it. I won't even get into details on how misogynistic the company is.

Pros

It is the place you join because of its mission and values (but by the end you realise that all are buzzwords). It was a great team culture couple of years ago, they didn’t know how to keep it when scaling.

Cons

Lack of clear strategy and leadership. Feeling of putting down fires for over 3 years and still the same. Almost everyone leave because of burn out. Caothic and not transparent communication. Gap gender salaries and cronyism. Do not regreat my decision to join but should have left much before. Was a cool place but they didn’t know how to mantain it, sad story of what it was a great place to work.
