Pros
Free Sodas in the fridge. If you're looking to retire, or you want to feel brilliant due to incompetent management....then this is the place for you!
Cons
1) "Free snacks" = 1 jumbo can of pretzels, that everyone in the company shares. 2) Company didn't do so well in 2016. Since then compensation has been relatively flat, and bennies are being cut. Health plan now requires employees to pay each paycheck....which is the sign of a slow death in a financial firm. They also advertise Training/Education reimbursement, but anytime you try to get training approved...you're told to use Lynda or CBTNuggets 3) IT management (Except Win Engineering) is absolutely clueless. They purchased consumer grade SSDs, for 7 year old business desktops. Over 150 SSD failures in the environment, in 12 months, and they wonder why. 4) Purchased all new Cisco switches, but then let them sit in storage for 18 months. When one of the cores spontaneously rebooted, cisco reminded us they were no longer supported/under maintenance. IT management then wanted us to give Cisco support another companies serial number! 5) Thousands of company assets missing, since 2012. Entire sites filled with assets have disappeared. Which way did they go?!?! 6) Tried to clean/consolidate the trade floor. Found networking equipment from the 80s/90s, hardwired and live...buried under the trade floor. A year plus later, no one has done anything. This was also reported to HR, as it put employees at risk. 7) DR testing...isn't a real test. If NYC was unplugged....oh boy. 8) My third month with the company, took a trip to PA To our datacenter. An IT manager got so intoxicated, that they took beer from the lobby convenient store, after it was closed. Had to spend an hour plus with hotel management/front desk, convincing them not to press charges. Then get back to our office in NY, and im told "Make sure the other employees dont say anything. What happens in PA stays in PA". Amazing conversation and way to be a role model
