Pros

Some people there are nice. Their office is easy to commute to.

Cons

Lack of communication, planning, and cooperation is incredible for a company that has been operating as long as this. Planning projects and events is laughable and needs major restructuring. You will be expected to work unreasonable hours during their "busy season" without any compensation for the extra time you're working (yes weekends are included) The blame game that is played at joonbug is abysmal. It's a lot of finger pointing without the chance to explain things to one another... which leads to more confusion They want employees to work at 200% effort and will pay them for 30% effort and expect a thank you at the end of the day. CEO punches holes in walls during the work day.

This is correct there is 7 weeks of intense work, then it is a very reasonable schedule. The comments on planning I cannot comment on, but I will say we are the largest New Years Eve company in the world, last year we did 170 events in 10 cities for 110k people, that is an extremely hard task, no one on earth does it, I am sure we can improve but we try our best.

Pros

The one and only positive thing I can say is that I met some great people while working here.

Cons

There are almost too many to list. People are told when they are hired that there is a good chance they will be full time permanent employees when really the CEO has every intention of firing as many people as possible as soon as the busy season is over. The business is family owned so you are subjected to constant, incredibly immature bickering and arguing between family members. There is no middle management - the CEO makes all decisions and barks orders at all levels of employees. You are expected to work 7 days a week for several months, whether you have work to keep you busy or not, and are NOT compensated. You will be promised bonuses that you will either never get, or they will laughably small. CEO uses manipulation and emotional abuse to pressure employees - you are constantly told that you are not good enough, not working hard enough, not putting in enough hours. There is absolutely zero positive reinforcement or recognition for a job well done. They hire attractive young people with little work experience because they know that they will be easy to manipulate and won't stand up for themselves. Regardless of what they tell you or promise you, they are always only looking out for themselves and are always paying themselves first. You will be treated poorly, underpaid and overworked. Don't work here - it just isn't worth it.

There are so many lies in this post it is hard to start. Brittany is middle management, you are hired and told that we cut down after the season, yes we do let go of those who do not perform well. I am sorry that you were one of them, the core staff that has been with us for years kicks butt. I want to thank them for all there hard work. Lastly tell the truth, whoever this is you did not work for us for more than a year, it was probably a few months and you were not able to do the job. Joonbug is hard for during the holiday season for sure, we are a holiday company but the rest of the year (45 weeks) it is an extremely relaxed environment where the office does not even open till 10am. If this person would like to put their name on this then we can have a real conversation.

Pros

Young company, co-workers are generally nice people who want to do best for the company.

Cons

Management are deceitful, ridiculously long hours, militia-minded, everyone is replaceable, and the business is a total scam. Don't work here if you have any respect for yourself.
