Great Company, Great Culture, Bright Future

Pros

Kepware and its employees operate by the core values of transparency, open communication, and "quality in everything we do". While some companies talk about culture, this company lives it. Leadership is smart and humble. The work is challenging and exciting. Salary compensation is above average. In addition to salary, company offers many perks including professional development opportunities and Kepware-sponsored social events (summer outing, holiday party, lunches, frequent happy hours, trick-or-treat for Kepware families, etc.) Camaraderie among employees is strong. The office space is beautiful. The opportunities here are endless for people who are smart, passionate, and want to make an impact.

Cons

The company is growing rapidly and fighting hard to preserve its culture in the process. I wouldn't necessarily consider this a con, but it is something to watch out for.

A start-up feel without the stress

Pros

Kepware is the gem of Portland, ME. A high tech software company with the look and feel and potential of a start-up, but with plenty of revenue and a very impressive customer-base. The growth of the past decade has been fueled by sales and not outside investment. The product offering is solid- much of the headcount growth over the past 5 years has been in Sales and Marketing in an effort to educate the market on the value of the company's offerings and in a Product Management team that is ensuring we are developing the right features and products for the future. Support of the Team Effort drives employees to work hard- not due to management demands. All the perks you would expect from a start-up exist, but these aren't the real attraction of the company that keep employees from leaving in search of greener grass. Most realize the combination of the company culture and location in Maine can't be matched- especially those that have worked many places in the past.

Cons

Being right at the ~100 employee count (currently), Kepware is at a pivotal period and experiences some growing pains. Nothing that you wouldn't expect or that doesn't get handled properly by management and leadership.

Pros

Kepware fosters a collaborative work environment where employees are directly accountable for the company's success and their own. The staff demonstrates a strong work ethic committed to high quality results with a management team that leads by example. Communication is open between all employees and departments as the company is largely flat in organization. The office space is modern and innovative complete with a full gym and functional design. It's easy to pick up on the energy and enthusiasm from a committed staff who believes they can do amazing things.

Cons

The company is experiencing rapid growth which sometimes makes it difficult to align multiple departments in shared initiatives.
