You’ll make those friends because you’re trauma bonding over how awful upper everything. From treatment by upper management (truly just the President of the company) to treatment from clients to the overload of work for a tiny amount of pay.
President of the company generally seems to take the straight male employees more seriously than any of the female, queer, or non white employees. Never enough for to probably actually be discrimination, but enough that if a female employee asked if we had a holiday off he would say no but if a male employee asked, he would say yes.
Salary was very hush hush and there was no consistency or respect. Designer making $40k/year was the highest paid and also made more than the VP of Ops. Company hires kids right of college so that they can pay them $25k/year and then fire them when they want a (barely) livable wage of at least $35k/year. Also cornered me in the hallway when I first started to be like “hey is this amount of pay good?” with no room for argument.
Expected to work overtime and off hours with no extra pay or benefits, but god forbid you take a little too long in the bathroom or come in a few minutes late due to traffic.
If you leave a bad review and the president finds out who you are, you will be blocked on social media in “retaliation”.
We were previously verbally told to give the company 5 star reviews on Glassdoor, but from home so that they didn’t all ping from our work location.
Cameras in every room to micromanage employees. Suspect that company president is even spying on what employees are doing via the WiFi or some other tracking software on the work computers.
Don’t expect any work from home time even though most of the work could be done from home.
President falls for a bunch of get rich quick schemes, including trying to buy a bunch of cheap products and the upsell them. It’s almost like he can’t run a company.
99% of the information about the company in the “About” section here is a straight up lie. There are at most 12 full time employees at any given time, not over 1,000. Company is based on Cincinnati, Ohio, not New York City.
The president, and therefore the company, is focused all about image not about good operations.
President of the company clearly doesn’t understand what his employees do and frequently forgets what he told them to do, making big choices that impact employee work flow and work load only to go “Why are we doing this?” “I never said to do that!” a month or two later.
