I have been working at LCH full-time

    Pros

Very smart people, it is part of the London stock exchange group, which can be a source of good intra-company career moves, very good work-life balance

    Cons

Difficult career progression, high turnover of junior people, too much admin and paper work as highly regulated institution

    Advice to Management

I'd recommend to managers to be more involved with juniors' development, with mentoring, for instance facilitate lateral moves

    Negative Outlook

I worked at LCH full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Maybe only one business area is unprofessional.

    Cons

Expectation that you will be available at all hours
Desktop technology is not fit for purpose.
Very cliquey. If you are not in with the good ole boys then you are out.
Astoundingly unprofessional behavior from some managers. Basically, bullies who get away with it because everyone else is professional.

    Advice to Management

Toxic culture will kill the goose.

Some good business partners in the product

Recognition is based on whether you are on the inside of the cliques.

I worked at LCH full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits package, really is very good

    Cons

IT hardware and software is literally a joke - very frustrating if you are on the dev / tch side of things . I never actually was fully provisioned with access to the right drives in a year and a half!

Seemingly no meritocracy as certain IT product owners know nothing about their product) , are not technical and have no true interest in improving the systems ... ( eg storing master data source IDs in downstream systems is not something they are going to change even though it causes the majority of the daily incidents).

Most people there happy to tread water rather than progress

    Advice to Management

Managers should at least be able to perform the tasks that the people they are managing undertake, else they have no concept of level of effort that something requires therefore cannot understand how hard you are working.. then give you inappropriate review scores/ overload you or the polar opposite .

Don't respond with "yeah well, we are a cliquey team" and "toughen up" when an employee comes to you with a grievance because you're friends with the subject of said grievance. Very isolating and upsetting. Said manager ought not be 'managing' the Salesforce product in my opinion.
