Don’t Do It

Pros

- For the most part everyone works together - Opportunity to wear multiple hats (more so due to lack of proper staffing) - Occasional Happy Hour with food - Depending on your role you’ll be able to travel - The company definitely tries to get you to understand true relationship building with clients

Cons

- Micromanagement to the fullest! Written and verbal “daily reviews” are MANDATORY. Not to mention the summary you have to give on Friday’s (completely redundant) - No sense of direction. Priorities can change in a moments notice and all of the work you put into one project may not matter or be even be recognized - Bonuses are a popularity contest where the CEO is the judge on who he likes at the time not necessarily based on work ethic - You’ll constantly be walking on eggshells with the CEO regardless of your accomplishments. - Extremely long and sporadic meetings that generally don’t have any sort of structure. Usually referred to as “quick sync ups”

Things I wish I'd known

Pros

Free food sometimes, cool co-workers

Cons

A lot of things done by management were questionable. They really liked playing the blame game, for everything gone wrong there must be someone to point fingers to, but that someone will never be them. They hire people to pay them as little as they can, but expect quality work in areas the new hires are not actually qualified in. If you speak up prepare to be listened to at most, things will not change.

Thank you very much for the feedback. As a fast growing startup run by founders came from engineering background, we have to say that the way we communicate sometimes can be perceived differently from its original intention. Often times, with the product and service focus and engineering way of thinking, we are quickly jumping into discovering the underlying problems, eager to fix the problem, but neglected the social filters or communication styles needed to smooth the feelings first. We are learning and refining the communication as we go. We learned that members who are goal oriented, laser focused on problem solving and well aligned with the product and service mindset are more likely to enjoy the work environment compared to members who are more people oriented, sensitive to feedback or need constant nurturing and coaching. We have learned a lot in our hiring strategy how important it is to find the best fit team members who strive at all the time, values hard working and growth opportunities, and truly care our customer's success. These key factors were lost in the past 18 months' hiring due to rush to hire to meet the growth goal. We are glad that the members who did not feel the fit or struggle to understand/enjoy the startup nature have decided to move on to find where they best fit. It's the best option for both. We hope your biggest take away from the short period of working here is not just food and some fun coworkers. We believe there are a lot you have learned from the job that you could add to your resume that will be benefitial to your future career development. It's OK that you might not appreciate the growth and high expectations, or even the opportunities to take challenges that you have not imagined you could take, but we believed in you and pushed you to stive. And you made progress, it was not easy but you made it, those skills stay with you throughout your future career. At this point, we hope you have truly moved on and is focusing on what works best for you. We wish you the best in your future career development. Regarding the pay, we pay members at or above market values based on experience, size of the company, industry and location. There are also decent bonuses based on performance. If you feel differently, please feel free publish your salary information so that viewers can easily see whether where it is in comparison of Glassdoor avaergae compensation data. We seek complete fairness and transparency based on facts and figures instead personal opionion. We will be open to glassdoor evaluation at any time.

Pros

-Great opportunity to wear multiple hats and try different aspects of a growing tech company. -Small start up environment and it's very fast pace. -Fun to get to know your coworkers and superiors during happy hours and company events. -Really great product, when it works. Has a meaningful solution that has saved time and effort. -Travel -Good location in Carlsbad -Lots of things to put on your resume if you decide to pursue other opportunities elsewhere

Cons

-Daily reports that take up a lot of time (maybe could even do weekly reports instead) - MICROMANAGING. Your superiors will NEED to know what you're doing every day all the time. Be prepared. They will ask you numbers at any point during the day (even during lunch if you eat in the office) -Priorities will change in a snap -Management has favorites and you can easily identify who they have as favorites -Don't depend on your bonuses for income -If you get emotional easily, do not work here.
