A place to be careful with

Pros

The location is really attractive for people in Jerusalem. The founders are smart people who worked hard to establish the place, and wanted it to be a great one. They provide good conditions and interesting work, high standards

Cons

The founders have low understanding of soft skills. It took me a long time to understand it, because smart people are appreciated in the western world, and it was really confusing to see people with high IQ that lack knowledge of basic psychology. The years at Lightricks caused me a serious breakdown and I became mentally sick. I can write a story to demonstrate it - I once raised a case to one of them of another manager that creates a toxic environment around him - that manager didn't cooperate with other managers and talks badly about other's promotions - as a result they looked at me as a special ad case, and someone that shouldn't be a leader. who did they appreciate? leaders that are great at playing the game of throwing jokes at people and making many others not comfortable around them. I started loosing my self. Another story? I needed a service from someone senior - to support something essential for the company income. That dude didn't want to commit and said - who are you to ask me , I am not giving you any ETA, when I have time I will do it. I explained again and again that without it I can't progress and all I got was - when I am ready you will know. I was accused that I don't know how to work with others. When I told this story to other companies that I interviewed at, for stories that I failed at, they were like - what? it's crazy! you are ok, that person should be put in question! Another example - A senior manager would simply do things related to what I was working at, and hurt them, because he wanted to , without explanation and consulting with me. He would take resources from me, stop advertising without prior consent or notice, and when i raised it to him he would say - this is what needs to be done. Not only that, if he didn't get a credit for a job - he wouldn't help or offer a solution. He was appreciated at that place. I couldn't criticise him. I can write many more examples, but I am trying to put it in the past. I learned a lot at this place, but, it's a place to be careful with. That's all.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. It’s nice to hear that you recognize what our founders are aspiring to accomplish. However, we’re sorry to hear that your time here wasn’t all that you’d hoped it would be. As we’re sure you’ve seen, we’ve scaled up our operations significantly the past few years, which always comes with growing pains. However, our employees' wellbeing always comes first. We’re always interested in hearing how we can improve, so if you’d like to provide further feedback, please feel free to reach out to us at ltx-glassdoor@lightricks.com.

A formerly great company that has lost its way!

Pros

The grounds are gorgeous and the company offers tons of helpful perks - like an accountant to help file your taxes, stocked kitchens, gym membership, etc. The vibe is overall fun and the offices are clean. Lots of good people work there.

Cons

Whoa! Lots! The company is SUPER cliquey, with the company consistently pushing the idea that your coworkers are your family - which is just so not true. Your family is your family, not your coworkers. They don't give raises- even when you get a promotion, it won't come with a raise unless you continue to "prove" yourself or whatever that means! Only people who are the company favorites and therefore given the opportunity to excel are considered superstars and given raises. In addition, if you aren't a favorite in the company, HR will effectively ignore you. If you have an issue with your manager, HR will always defer to the manager - preferring to fire the complaining employee than discipline the manager. They consistently mistreat employees returning from maternity leave. In addition, they haven't had a successful product since their first, not sure this company will ever IPO. And lots more. Basically, Lightricks may seem all nice and shiny from the outside, but there's a ton of dysfunction brewing right underneath the function.

Thanks so much for leaving your feedback. It’s nice to hear you appreciated the greenery of our offices, generous perks, and overall vibe. We’re sorry to hear that despite all of these positives, you felt like the company could be a bit clique-y or that certain managers picked favorites. This isn’t the type of environment we’d like to foster and do our best to recognize all of our employees for their hard work and dedication to their jobs. The past few weeks, with the integration and release of multiple new AI features, have highlighted the company’s dedication to constantly improving our products and services and believe that this will lay the groundwork for our future as a leader in the creator economy. However, just like any successful company, we’ll have to make some pivots along the way to make sure we’re constantly staying ahead of the curve. We recognize that to make all of this happen, we need to invest in all of our employees, and give each and every one resources and support to develop not only professionally, but personally as well.

Pros

If you want to enjoy luxurious food and high-end offices while enjoying watching company politics, and nothing else need to be done - that's the right place for you! the best show in town.

Cons

Many leave or get fired by the minute. guess what - performance is never the issue - those workers wanted to prove themselves, wanted to do something meaningful, but somehow failed in "playing the game" and they couldn't stay anymore. Ppl leave because they had enough, and realise how so little they developed their skills for the time that they spent in the company. The HR never care - they will find a replacement, yes, some like to come for a 2 years shift to see this un-real place.

We are saddened to hear about your negative experience at Lightricks. While we strive to encourage the growth of each and every employee, there is always room for improvement and we hope to do just that. Employee retention is also something we value greatly. Thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback. If you’d be open to discussing your experience further, we would really love to speak with you.
