Plenty of hours, depending on location. You might be required to cover sites outside your city to get the hours.

Cons

*Long hours. 10 - 12 on average *Taking holidys and being paid for your holidays can be tricky - Few officers I know took holiday that were never paid. *Favoritism is rife. Plenty of lazy officers who do the minimum and call in sick regularly get perfered shifts and days off.

Good company to work for, Management attempt to accommodate any working issues and visit you monthly and generally answer the phone or call you back. Prospects for promotion are available and the company does try to promote internally.

Cons

Low rate of pay. Often asked to work on your day off due to other officer sickness
