      Great employees, good culture with below average leadership

      Pros

      Colleagues were really friendly and provided a great environment to work in. The overall culture was generally very good

      Cons

      Management who acquired Lonsec didn't have the experience to deal with a company 4 times the size of what they were controlling beforehand. Rather than taking advice from a team that propelled the company to a dominant market position they employed senior staff who were not experienced in the industry.

      Much has changed since 2017 including our CEO and most of our Exec team. Of course that situation has also presented an amazing opportunity for three of our senior people to step into the top job in their business unit. They are now leading their way as they grow and develop their business areas with the backing of their teams.

      CEO has departed - Lonsec rises again!

      Pros

      It was a fantastic place to work - hopefully it can be again. There are still amazing, hardworking, knowledgeable and caring people working at Lonsec to make it a great place to work so I would not be put off by the comments. Apply for the job, meet the people and judge for yourself. Lonsec has launched hundreds of fantastic careers.

      Cons

      The CEO who was at the centre of many of the previous comments has now departed. He had his good points but people management and communication was certainly not two of them. There is hope that the new management can learn from the mistakes of the past and respect and value the contribution of their staff.

      Pros

      Have really great people who are passionate , professional and committed to the cause. Good offices in good locations, facilities, friendly staff (not upper management/directors).

      Cons

      Poor management culture with a show me the money attitude. No clear direction. Not an exciting industry to be part of. Paid well below what competitors would offer. Smoke and mirrors everywhere. Lots of egos in higher positions who are unable to make a logical and valid decision.

      Feedback like this is important to hear. There have certainly been a lot of changes at Lonsec in the past 18 months starting with a new CEO and Executive team. These types of changes present challenges for some people and opportunities for others. We are now well on our way to reshaping Lonsec with some great new products to benefit our clients and we are bringing in more highly talented and committed people to help us reach our goals. We are continuing to grow as we add to our headcount and implement some great internal initiatives to mentor and coach staff to make the most of their time with us. We are incredibly proud of our Lonsec Alumni who go on to great careers in some amazing organisations. Many of whom have made a significant contribution to the organisation we are today.
