Pros

Most employees are really friendly and fun to work with. Monthly birthday parties are always a treat.

Cons

Management is horrible along with the owner of the company who is completely out of touch with what is going on within the company. Managers turn on each other when they should be all working to support the same goal. Lots of drama and talking behind backs. When certain managers get overwhelmed they are extremely rude which makes you not want to approach them in the future.

Pros

They offer jobs opportunities to new graduates with little previous work experience. Most of the staff really believe what they are doing is helping its patients. MVL is CLIA certified and has a good record for state inspections. They are forgiving and fire very few employees.

Cons

There are very rarely opportunities for advancement within the company. Certain departments have high turnover and/or poor communication with coworkers, which causes disruption and unease.

Pros

The surrounding grounds are lovely and there is a river trail to take advantage of during the summer months.

Cons

The company is owned by a husband and wife team. They also own the clinic (Tacoma Clinic) which is downstairs from Meridian Valley Lab. Salaries are low, non competitive and different among workers that do the same job. There is no retirement savings plan that they contribute to for you on a regular basis (i.e.: no fund matching). Medical and dental are bare minimum. The company has been in business for about forty years and their products and services have grown little. There is minimal innovation. There are no promotions or incentives for young college minds. The president of the company, the wife, constantly laments that they are barely scraping by. Management is a small biased few who act on, and participate in gossip and slander, of which the owners listen to. The president plays favors when it comes to who can and cannot flex their work schedules. When it comes to conflicts or concerns the president constantly says, “I did not know” and does nothing constructive about it. Workers are basically left to work things out among themselves which turns into passive-aggressive cockfighting.
