Just because it's a start-up, doesn't mean it's the right match for someone who fits a start-up environment. It has flaws that many start-ups don't. Metric Collective's FranchiseHelp team has its fair share of politics, cattiness, and favoritism with long-standing employees. The people here are super nice, but there are some ego driven/entitled employees that like to run rank on people and be passive aggressive when the boss isn't looking. If you are someone who has a decent amount of work experience at various companies, this might not be the right place for you. This is a company that is a start-up at its finest, without any sort of structure (Which has its pros and its cons). The cons however, can cause lack of communication, disruption in work execution, interpersonal boundaries being crossed, and minor conflicts becoming bigger issues instead of being squashed immediately. This is a very young team, and many have very minimal experiences in the workforce. Some employees with director titles have only held 1-2 jobs prior to this one, which were entry-level roles less than 5 years ago. Experience matters for a number of reasons in any company (Including start-ups). It can reflect how you handle conflict and interact with others in the office. People here are so nice and they value their interns which is great, but I think allowing a student intern to come on a company trip out of state where we spend the night at a retreat as a team is a bit much. It's not normal for a company to do such a thing. There does seem to be a lack of boundaries at Metric Collective. Although it feels like a fake company at times, it's not a fake company. It's a company with clients that pays employees to work. I had a new co-worker openly tell me in a meeting that they had a fake title (Not a good look for them or the company). Interns are treated with more respect than new incoming employees. I mean, they bring student interns on weekend overnight company retreats --- what do you expect? If you're an intern or new to the workforce, you'll love it here! If you are used to company environments with a basic expectation of professionalism and you prefer that, you might end up resigning or leaving for a new role within 1-2 years or less. You might also feel like you won't grow professionally or you'll fall behind. If you want to work for a big company like Facebook, Google, Conde Nast, Tribune, or even a start-ups where professionals came from those credible companies, than this might not help you get there. Professional growth doesn't just include improved skill set in terms of the work you do. It also includes leadership abilities, how you manage teams, deal with people in the office, and how you manage conflict to improve interpersonal interactions and professional relationship building. I voluntarily resigned after three weeks. I noticed the red flags in week one. The person prior to me only lasted for 1 year. This is a company that's been around since the early 90's. They've been under Metric Collective's hub for over 4 years now and they only have seven employees. Something isn't right. I think they need to re-evaluate if their cultural structure is what they need to grow the company. This is a team that should have well beyond 15 employees by now. I really like the Co-founders and the President, so I hope they find the right talent for their company. I wouldn't recommend this company to a friend (My friends are corporate people and that's what they're used to/prefer). It might be the right fit for someone who's young or has very minimal work experiences and would prefer/could work under the type of culture MC brings. It's a company definitely perfect for someone who wouldn't be able to excel in a corporate cultural environment no matter how hard they try. On the flip side, this is also a company that isn’t suited for a corporate individual, know matter how hard that person tries —- unless they were the CEO or president that could control and dictate their surroundings. I hope this is helpful to anyone seeking a new Director role at MC's FranchiseHelp. Be careful if deciding to walk away from a good paying salary that you currently withhold for a role at Metric Collective's FranchiseHelp.

Compensation, but low-pressure and lax environment comes with that I guess.
